Hi Suzyq,
I was diagnosed with essential thrombocemia in 2015 was on hydroxycarbimide until it changed to myleofibrosis 2021, this was discovered when I was admitted to hosp with enlarged spleen, after a biopsy I was started on Jakavi, which shrinks the spleen, now back to normal and helping blood levels, only thing is myleofibrosis leaves you anaemic so I have to get regular blood transfusions. What about you how long since your diagnosis.

Hi @ladicaz, thanks for posting, and I hope you’re doing okay?

Hair dye is usually a concern due to the health and fragility of a person’s hair, rather than presenting a risk to the person themselves. For example, chemotherapy might affect hair, which Cancer Research UK has more information on- Using hair dye after chemotherapy| Coping with cancer | Cancer Research UK.

If you’d like to talk anything through, please don’t hesitate to call our Support Team on 0808 2080 888.

Best wishes,
Tanya.
