I have been offered either Alcalabrutinib or Zanubrutinib following blood tests and bone marrow biopsies giving rise to a Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) diagnosis - originally and fortuitously blood tests and CT scan were done to confirm my Alzheimers only.
I am reading up anything online I can including some various YouTube discussions by health professionals
Hi @jonno I am so glad that you have found us as some information out there can be quite unhelpful.
Your diagnosis must have come as quite a shock, not what you expected.
I was given my diagnosis of Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) 20 yrs ago by a gynaecologist.
I am not a medical person, but I believe treatment options now are targeted to the individual taking into account more than just results.
Perhaps talk through both options with your specialist nurse, GP or consultant.
Perhaps write down all your fears, questions and practicalities and ask the pros and cons and possible side effects.
Have you got any support who you can talk things through with?
Please do let us know how you get on, really look after and be very kind to yourself I expect you you are in shock, that took a while to subside with me
Hello, thankyou for your kind reply , I have now also subscribed to Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) Support Association (CLLSA ) on YouTube as well as coming back here for any other information that would be useful.
The coincidence of the tests for Alzheimer’s which is in its early stages and I am receiving medication for the symptoms, and revealing this condition would be an example , as my late mother who died of cancer would say - God moves in mysterious ways !
Thankyou again for your response
