Hi @Ells. Good to hear you are feeling better today. A bit of self care does us the world of good!
Take care of yourself whilst waiting for results. I don’t know about you but I hate waiting!!!
Have a lovely weekend X
Hi @Ells I am so glad you are feeling better today, so am I as it happens, isn’t it good to feel better, then I realise how bad I had felt.
You sure should be proud of yourself with what you have achieved this week and you also have a friend in your new hoover.
Nearly every one of us on this forum seems to get anxious before, during and until we get the results of tests.
Yes, why do we sometimes bruise so much worse than others and the bruises last for so long. I had my bloods done once and then had to see the same nurse a couple of weeks later and she said ‘did I do that to you’ and she was mortified.
And a very Happy Friday and weekend to you too.
Hi @Erica & @Nichola75
Oh yes it certainly does. I do hate waiting for those results especially as it now means the difference between having or not having an op
But at least I know they have 3 weeks or 2 as it will be to 2turn things around…
So glad you’re feeling better too… It does make you realise how bad you felt I’m still not 100 % it’s extremely rare I say this but we don’t have daves son this weekend as there’s covid in his household it made the difference between me going out to our friends daughters birthday party this evening. I wasn’t going to go as I’m struggling with my pain to cope with an excited him aswell would of been too much for me. I can have this weekend to recover more. I’ve no idea why we bruise more than others at times but I sure do take a while to heal. I’ve got one on my foot I’ve had for a week and half now I suspect it’ll be another week before that’s gone the one on my arm I’ll have for a couple of weeks no doubt. She was so gentle as well.
Here comes a weekend of rest and pottering for me
Hi @Ells
A group of my friends clubbed together when I was very poorly in 2017/18 and with the money I bought a cordless dyson which is very light and I felt like I was able to do something in the house
It’s liberating isn’t it at a time when it’s so hard to do anything
I had my 3 monthly bloods last week along with Zometa
I get anxious a couple of days before going it’s almost like your waiting for the dreaded news
I too have bruised having bloods done the day before (we must have had similar nurses) this time like @Erica my nurse said oh gosh did I do that as she was getting a catheter in my hand
Bless her she felt awful
I hope your bloods are good so you can get your op on the go
Sounds like a nice me time weekend for you
Put your feet up and know your body will love you for it
Hi @2DB what a thoughtful brilliant idea of your friends to club together and buy you a cordless Dyson, they are priceless friends.
I love you last sentences to @Ells ‘Sounds like a nice me time weekend for you
Put your feet up and know your body will love you for it’.
Such a very good idea for all of us, we deserve it, we are all very special people !!
The last sentence is a good one!
Hi @2DB @Erica & @Nichola75
How. Lovely of your friends to do that for you and yes it is so liberating just to be able to do kost 1 more chore even if it is hoovering I don’t care its something different to do after 3 years of washing and washing up … I know as everyone points out to me when I feel up to it I do other things but not what I call proper housework…
Today I’ve done a combination of pottering, a bit of sorting and dropping off while sat with my feet up
Happy. Saturday everyone… I think my body is loving me not doing much today
Happy Saturday @Ells. You need to make this a regular event! X
Hi @Ells I also think your body is loving you not doing much today !!!
Hi @Nichola75 & @Erica
I wish I could make this a regular event but with daves son being here at weekends it’s not possible. We haven’t had him this weekend which is a shame as we miss him but safety first especially as I’m due to go in hospital soon… But I could always foesce myself to make time during the week…
We’ve just watched the closing ceremony of the Olympics and I’ve got to say I really didn’t think much to it… I enjoyed it to a degree but it just wasn’t as good as they were trying to make out it was going to be… I’ve really done absolutely nothing today proper lay in and everything like Sundays were made for …
Happy Sunday everyone xx
@Ells - it’s what Sundays are supposed to be about - rest and doing what you fancy! Make the most of it while you can x
Hi @Ells and @Nichola75 I slept for 2 1/2 hrs this afternoon and would be still asleep if my bladder and a hungry husband hadn’t woken me from my slumbers. I feel much better for it.
@Erica. You obviously needed it! I hope it doesn’t stop you sleeping tonight
Don’t worry @Nichola75 it’s a one off so it won’t stop me sleeping tonight !!!
Hi all
omg did i sleep last night 8 hours for the first in years I think… We’ll I spoke to the haematologist yesterday for my check up and my platelets are on the rise again so they’ve decided to up my meds to get them back down and hopefully in time for my op they’re only at 590 but been rising since December slowly which initially they thought it was the biopsy that caused that one… He said they’ll speak to me again after my op and see how I’m doing and how my platlets are to discuss things further and he’s giving me more iron tablets as they’re helping me sleep. Not helping with the tiredness as I’ve woken exhausted but heyho that’s life…
Got a lovely surprise this morning my mum sent me flowers I got annoyed with her doctors the other day messing her around and complained to them without her knowing and demanded an apology which I got the next day and advice on what she needed to do to get transport to the hospital for an appointment after telling her she wasn’t entitled to it which is a joke she can’t walk and has fallen. She needs help I won’t be able to take her ill be recovering from my op. That surgery reception are so rude and unhelpful it’s unbelievable at times. So I told them straight
and then told her what I’d done
Time now for a rest I think now I’ve done some chores… Oh and a coffee happy Wednesday everyone
Hi @Ells, wow an 8hr sleep, but a pity you did not feel more rested.
Oh, how lovely to receive flowers from your mum, I bet it made your day.
Some times things have to be said to people to make them realise what is right and fair, good for you.
Yes, you deserve a rest and a coffee after doing your chores, i think I ought to do mine !!!
Has anyone else had to complain or take matters up with medical services?
Hi @Erica
I know I’m just having one of those days where I feel tired I’ve just woke up after 2 hour nap I decided to do some relaxation which always does that to me
I don’t have many chores but they do tire me.
I get so fed up of hearing how they treat her and that really was the final straw for me… All they had to do was point her in the right direction not tell her she wasn’t entitled. What made it worse was they never even asked her details.
The flowers certainly have made my day such a wonderful surprise …
I love a nice surprise like that! Enjoy them x
@Nichola75
Me too especially as I didn’t want to get up this morning all I knew was she’d sent a parcel to mine. I just thought it was because she’s coming to stay next week for a few weeks while I recover from my op… Had no idea the parcel was for me was really confused when it had my name on it
I’m totally enjoying them have them in the bedroom where I spend alot of time atm so I can see them thryre just beautiful and still can’t believe she did it all because I did what anyone would do
Be even better to see her in person next week
