Hi All, I thought I would start a thread called ‘I’ve been thinking about you, how are you doing?’ where we can reach out to fellow forum members that we have not heard from for a while and we would like to know how they are doing.
There is no pressure to anyone contacted to respond if they would rather not.
Hi @parkrunmark, I have been thinking about you as I have started doing parkruns, how are you doing?
Hi @Blackhat, it’s be ages, I have been thinking about you, how are you doing?
Hi, @Ells I have been thinking about you, how are you doing?
Hi @dmquinlan I have been thinking about you, how are you doing?
Hi @Erica
Im doing ok… had alot of appointments to try and find out why my tummy haps been playing up for the past year and all in all thry think its one of my pain meds so ive been told to try not to take it… err if i didnt need to take it i wouldnt…
Other than that im doing ok daves just spent the week with his parents and left me home alone… so i deep cleaned the bathroom and finished decorating it which involved me putting things in it id bought on amazon. Deep cleaned the kitchen and attempted ashtons room as the week wore i managed to do less and less… managed to have the life scared out of me midweek as 2 hours after i had got my cuttlery off the drainer one of ashtons lids to his cups decided to jump off it and land on the floor… daves 200 miles away and my mother the one time i need her is on the phone for one of her twice weekly phone calls… so there was me walking around the house to investigate a noise thinking what on earth am i going to do if its burglars look at me im in my pjs in alot of pain and i cant run for toffee oh and i got nothing to attempt to hit them with… the thoughts in my head as i walked around were just as funny like my reasoning for leaving the living room light on after id checked it… ive had such a stupid week… i even fell off a step the ones most people stand on to reach things… me i was sat on it putting ashtons toys away reached for some books slipped off and got stucl between the step and his toy box
I hope everyo e is doing good…
Happy sunday weve not long got in from some traction engine thing but loads of people selling things so dave has treated me to make up for being away for a week…
Oh @Ells why do I read your posts and end up with so many mental pictures of you up to mischief.
I think you are like me and top gear or stop, No balance in between.
Happy Sunday and all week xx
Hi @Erica
i read that line to dave and he said cos its not far from the truth…
Yes thats me and today i can barely move my meds just dont want to work at all… but im trying we’re in the garden now and im watching dave work while sat covered up and in the shade still entertaining dave.
. He left me a lovely new york cheesecake to eat while he was away and as i didnt go out at all only to the dentist for my checkup which for omce i dont need work doing what a shocker ! I made him a special one
He asked me about it this morning i said its the healthier option as we’ve decided to go on a diet when he got back or at least cut back on the sweet stuff…
I certainly dont have an in between like you. I may be slow when i do things but once i start i wont stop until im happy the job is done.
Most definitely happy all week ive been topd today it supposed to be lovely weather all week so i might get the rest of my weeding done
It’s me again, there are so many of our fellow forum friends that I would like to reach out to, but I must stand back and let others contact others.
If you would like to reach out to someone all you have to do is to type in @ then no space and start typing their forum name in and a list of similar names should come up.
Lovely gesture @Erica. Hello @Corfu80. I hope I have remembered correctly but I think you shared some beautiful photos of your dog with us a while ago. How are you doing? Thinking of you. Warm wishes Willow. X
@MazB how are you doing
Hi @Erica
So kind of you to think of us!
I’m doing well. My last chemo was end of last month, I have consultation next Wednesday to determine what happens next.
In the meantime, I’ve been cracking on with my training for this years Ford Ride London - which is happening this Sunday 28th.
Just in from a training ride.
I have interview today for an internal company wide magazine about my fundraising for Blood Cancer which I’m looking forward to.
I’m really pleased and humbled as to how well my fundraising is going for this years ride.
Thanks again!
David
Wow, @dmquinlan gosh I am so impressed, let’s hope the weather is clement for you next weekend for your Ford Ride London.
Your fundraising is going so well.
Please let us know how your consultation goes next Wednesday.
I hope the interview goes smoothly today, don’t forget it is your specialist subject
I will be thinking about this week.
Be kind to yourself and let @BloodCancerUK how your interview and Ride London go.
Hello!
I’m doing well thank you so much for asking. Dad is waiting on his transplant (due to take place in July) and he had over 100 matches which I’ve heard is crazy! But they’ve found him a donor from Germany - so hopefully all works out.
Personally am in a better place. My wife is expecting a little one (12 week scan is today) so hoping all works out.
Dad is slowly building his strength up now he’s finished intravenous chemo (until his transplant), so hopeful he’s doing better in himself which gives everyone else hope and positivity.
Hope you and everyone else is doing ok also!
That’s a lovely idea @Erica. It will be so good to hear how everybody is doing x
Oh @MazB so glad that you and your wife are expecting a little one and I really hope the scan goes well today, really look after and be kind to yourselves (with the occasional treat!!)
I have never heard of 100 donor matches before, wow.
Now is the time for your dad to really build up his strength which hopefully will give him a psychological boost as well.
Please keep posting and all of you take lots of care of yourselves.
Wow - 100 matches. That’s just amazing. Even more amazing that you have the 12 week scan today! Really lovely to hear how you are all doing
I was diagnosed and started treatment for ET in January and I have to say despite the initial shock and worry things are progressing well.
Platelets have come down from 650 to 479 as Hydroxycarbamide has been increased to 2 x 500mg daily but I’m not experiencing any of the numerous side effects that scared the life out of me so if ET continues like this I’m more than happy.
Hopefully in the future my platelets will come down even further but I no longer worry about heart attacks or strokes and I feel confident for the future.
Great to hear from you @Mills and how you are getting on, I really look forward to hearing more about you so please keep posting.
@MazB some lovely news there thank you for sharing
That tiny glimmer of light and hope does get brighter
I’m well thank you x
