Labyrinthitis

Hi@Yvonne ,how are you doing post Covid ?
I can reiterate the way you explained "weary"I hope you are feeling better and have you had your bloods checked yet ?
I had mine 2 weeks ago ,I was feeling quite
"non challont "if thats an expression to use ,anyhow after minimal doing nothing for 6 months ,its gone up 1.20 -12.50 which is still low but enough to tell me is still active ,my GP isnt phased ,I realise its still low but as you say its the anxiety before and after and you have more to be anxious about .I am a bit bothered because my MCHC was higlited as low, below normal but my GP wasnt concerned, I think it could be post Covid so I am going to ask for another FBC in 6 weeks because my energy levels have taken a dive ,more noticeably than usual.I cant walk as far and could go to sleep standing up and everthing seems more of an effort .We enjoyed spending time with the UK Grandchildren although it was so hot down South, reminded us of Australian heat so we kept quiet and cool in the garden with a few visits out with the little one ,the older ones were doing “School Camp”.Make the most of your 2 year old ,our youngest is starting School and weve missed a lot because of covid.

I hope that your results are stable.I will look out for you.
Take care

Hi Bannanacake

I am over the COVID thank you. I am due my blood tests on Tuesday and my telephone appointment is on the the 7th September. I am just hoping all is stable although I have terrible bone pain in my back, hips & pelvis and I am just so tired all the time and low energy levels. It does worry me but we’ll see what the bloods say.
We have had a get together with my son Gray, wife Bree and grandson Fox this afternoon along with her parents who are over here from Australia visiting . It’s the first time they have met Fox due to COVID restrictions so it’s been very special. We have had a lovely afternoon in the sunshine. It helped take my mind off the dreaded blood tests.
Our darling Fox is growing so quickly now, talking a lot, very active. We love him so much. I am exhausted now so probably an early night for me…lol. We have to pace ourselves I think.
Thank you for your lovely message.

Take care of yourself too

Oh @Yvonne what a very special afternoon you must have had.
I think Covid times has really re-enforced for me that family and friends are absolutely priceless. Also Fox really adds something special to the mix.
Please let us know how your telephone appointment goes on the 7th Sept.
Look after yourself as I expect today will have worn you out

Hi@Yvonne,thank you for your message.I was totally with you on what a special time you all had getting together with families from Australia. We havent seen our family from the Southern hemisphere since pre COVID but plans are a foot🤞 .

I hope that you are not finding the wait too hard till the 7th,with all the discomfort you have going on it cant help .I get myself in a state every time so Im letting things settle now .Yes you have to look after yourself early nights and take it easy. Hope you are feeling easier.

Hi Bannanacake

Thank you for your email. Our Australian family have just returned home after a hectic few weeks here getting to know our / their grandson Fox. He has worn them out but we have had some lovely family time. Our son Gray, daughter-in-law Bree and grandson Fox are going over to Australia for Christmas/New Year so we will be having a quiet Christmas this year.
I have had my phone call from the Myeloma nurse this afternoon. She reassured me that although my paraprotein has risen to 23 (has been stable at 22 for last few tests) the rest of my results are okay…not anaemic, kidneys fine etc. I am still experiencing terrible bone pain which I mentioned. I have managed to book a GP appointment but cannot get in for 4 weeks.
I hope you are keeping fine. I suppose we have good days and bad days don’t we.
Take care of yourself

Hi Erica

Thank you for your kind words. I sometimes feel like I am not being listened to I must be honest. I told the nurse about my fatigue which is with me constantly too. She said to see what my GP says when I see him next month …

Take care Erica

Hi@Yvonne,thank you for your update,Its good news that your bloods are okay as yiu say however paraprotein now 23 and you have the bone pain
I am sorry to hear that you can’t see your GP for a few weeks,is there any way it can be brought forward.?You say a Myeloma Nurse but do you see a Haematologist .It must be very wearing having constant pain, thats the difference for me with arthritis I get flare ups which are bad enough ,so I can imagine how you are feeling if its constant.I did wonder if you had heard of a tens machine, see if that would help.
All your chat about your Family visiting Australia has got me wanting to go …
Our Daughter and eldest Grandson are here Nov from NZ for 2 weeks before they head south to other Family,so that will be quite something after 4 years .Hopefully all being well with travel we can visit Australian Family in the Spring. I expect Fox is keeping you busy :relaxed:
Ive got an appointment with my GP to "iron "out a few things so Ill see how that goes,Im going prepared with questions!
I hope this finds you easier,as @Erica says to "keep on "at your medical team, that is what they are there for.

Hi @Bannanacake medical appointment wise not a good week for me…
Firstly, my plastic surgeon appointment booked for next Monday (the Queens funeral day) was confirmed by text and then the next day cancelled, and I await another appointment date.
Then I sat in and awaited a rheumatology phone appointment for 10.15 this morning and it’s now past 18.00 and I am still awaiting it.
I will sort it out but it’s the stress and hassle of it all as many of us know.
Look after yourself, you give so much to others

Hi@Erica,thats such a … ,I wont use the word ,esp your Plastic Surgery app that you were all geared up for .Ive had to for go my GP app on Monday which has been rescheduled for Thurs but thats OK.It just seems like another hurdle of set backs waiting for Hospital appointments. I am number
30 on the list for priority for Neurology ,plus waiting for routine surgery like so many others are.I really hope the phone has rung for you by now from Rheumatology :crossed_fingers: .Thank you for your kind words too and always a reminder to look after myself and as you say to others , its appreciated. So its hydro pool day tomorrow and a visit to my favourite coffee shop.
Take care too.

Hi @Bannanacake , Lovely to hear from you. I haven’t been seen by a Haematologist since 2017 … I think because I had been stable I was put under care of Clinical nurse specialists. I haven’t been seen in person by them since 2020 when COVID kicked in. Just have telephone appointments which is not always ideal. My most recent phone conversation last week had terrible reception so she couldn’t hear me so I gave up in the end. Next phone appointment Dec 7th.
I have used a TENS machine for pain and it does help at times but nurse said to discuss stronger pain relief with GP. I would like to know what the pain is though really. I hope your GP appointment goes well…and yes go well armed with your questions. I had to battle with the receptionist to get a face to face appointment…she tried to say a phone appointment would suffice.
Thank goodness I have my lovely Fox to cheer me up. He is talking all the time now. It will be lovely for you to see your family in November.
Take care

Hi@Yvonne,thanks for your reply.I am hoping you are feeling a bit easier, its not good to hear that you have to wait so long for an appointment or that you have to battle it out to get a face to face app.I hear on the news they are trying to sort it out and make it no longer than 2 weeks.Least where I live appointments are so much easier,if you want to see a particular GP usually have to wait a week, but can at least get a same day call if necessary. Thats great you know about thecTens ive never needed to try but Ive heard about them, bone pain is particularly difficult so I hope you get some joy.As you say Fox is keeping you going.Yes ,wont be long to November ,I still keep thinking I am in August till I look out the window :joy:, its going to be busy as the 3 UK Grandchildren are here next month.
I managed my app ok and Ive started on Iron tabs ,my haem is in the lower range and another reading was under so im hoping it will explain why my energy levels have dropped, although I havent felt ive been the same since having Covid
Im pacing myself , time will tell.
Take care too

Hello. I hope your illness will pass. I also have an ear infection. The doctor said it might be allergies. Could it be due to allergies? Sorry if I put it in the wrong place.
