Lymphoma concern

I have been referred to haematology on the two week wait after finding a large lump in my groin. I was referred for an ultrasound and received a call from my GP 24 hrs after to say something had shown up and that I’d be referred to haematology for suspected lymphoma. My bloods were mostly reassuring. I discovered a few small swellings in my neck on Wednesday
The appointment is the 10th Feb and I’m slightly anxious and trying desperately not to overthink

Hi @Cookie46 welcome to our forum,
I am not surprised that you are slightly anxious it sounds as if you have been on a whirlwind the last few weeks and I was in shock for ages and my thoughts and emotions all over the place, mostly negative.
I also think waiting and not know is anxious making, and I have done a lot of that over the last 21 yrs.
Perhaps just be kind to yourself, do nice things to divert your mind, my tricks are music, walking and Pilates.
Perhaps take this time to write down your symptoms, fears, questions and practicalities.
Really look after yourself and please do keep posting how you get on.

Just a quick update. I had my heanatology clinic appointment today, I’m waiting now on appointments for a CT scan and an ultrasound biopsy. The consultant did say they should come soon. The consultant talked about different lymphomas and I was hoping that she’d say but it could still be something innocent but she didn’t.
But I do understand that the biopsy is needed to determine diagnosis
Still feeling positive and hoping for the best possible outcome

Oh @Cookie46 thanks so much for the update.
I am glad that you are having more investigations.
Please do let us know how you get on and take lots of care, I find investigations, waiting and not knowing exhausting and anxious making.
Be kind to yourself

Hi Lindy
Just got a date for CT scan which is next Sunday 23rd Feb. Hopefully the appointment for my biopsy should be here soon.
My consultant just mentioned lymphoma at my initial visit. I was waiting for her to mention other options that were less sinister but she didn’t.
I’m still hoping for a positive outcome

I had my CT scan today but still no appointment for my ultrasound biopsy which the consultant had wanted doing no later than tomorrow. I’m seeing her in 2 weeks time so likelihood of biopsy results not being back by then is pretty strong.
The waiting and not knowing is definitely the worst part of this. Trying to keep busy and being kind to myself

Hi @Cookie46 I hate the waiting for appointments.
Perhaps if your consultant told you that was what she wanted timeframe wise then perhaps there is nothing to stop you contacting her.
Yep, trying to keep busy and being ever so kind to yourself sounds good to me.

Hi @Cookie46,

Sorry to hear you are still waiting on your biopsy appointment. I would suggest giving your Clinical Nurse Specialist a call if you have one. They should be able to chase this up for you.
Take care

I spoke to someone today and they informed me my biopsy is this Thursday morning the 27th and then about an hour later the post delivered my appointment
Thankful it’s this week and not too long to wait. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome
