It does take such a long time it feels like forever when you are on the receiving end like you and your husband are. I got my first phone call in the January 2018 asking me to attend an appointment with a haematologist. I didn’t even know what one was! I had , had a scan of my tummy because of reoccurring indigestion. I was then told they suspected I had lymphoma.
My actual confirmed diagnosis and chemo didn’t start untill May.
It took many scans and biopsies to gain a complete diagnosis.
There are so many different sub types ,getting the right diagnosis can take a little time this is importnat so that you receive the right targeted treatment, but that isn’t easy to deal with when you are the patient or partner. The wait feels like forever. I do hope you hear soon @Lindy1
Thank you for your post !
Just wondering how all your tests are working out ,
Quick update
Today I saw my haematology consultant who confirmed I have cancer but not blood cancer. Squamous cells were found in my enlarged lymph node in my groin. I’m now being referred urgently to gynaecology and colorectal departments simultaneously to find where the primary cancer is
So I have some pieces of the jigsaw but still missing a few. I’m in good spirits that things will hopefully move quickly
Thanks so much for the update @Cookie46 and I really hope you get those missing pieces to your jigsaw.
Really be kind to yourself and look after yourself, the not knowing and waiting is horrible as you well know
So just back from ANP , my husbands diagnosis is lymphoplasmactic lymphoma ( waldestrom !)
Ct scan all clear so active monitoring for now , very early stage, found incidently ! Thankful
Glad you have something concrete @Lindy1
I’ve pasted the link to the pages on the website in case they are helpful.
Hopefully you can move forward now.
Oh @Cookie46
Thanks for the update. Hope you get seen quickly.
Do make sure you find support groups like you did here and look after yourself.
