MGUS newly diagnosed

Hi, I am recently diagnosed with Monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS). Paraprotein levels low but ratio kappa/lamda high. I am 69 years old so don’t have a clue how long I’ve had this condition as it was an incidental finding. I have an appointment for an MRI on 20 December and an appointment with the haematologist on 20 January. I am obviously concerned. I am well at the moment and not having frequent infections, but the high ratio level is most concerning. 142!

Hi @ann03025
I understand that waiting for test results can be a stressful experience. It’s completely normal to feel anxious and uncertain during this time.
While I can’t provide specific medical advice, I encourage you to use reliable sources of information. Your doctor is the best source of information about your specific situation. You could also reach out to our nurses for additional support and information. They can provide guidance on managing your condition and answer any questions you may have.
