My mum was diagnosed with Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) around 2 years ago, on the latest app we have discovered lymp nodes have spread and are now 5cms, in tummy groin chest and armpits, consultant advised we have chemo tablets starting in a few weeks time, mum has dementia at the stage where she’s constantly repeating but not at the point where she doesn’t know who we are, I felt I didn’t want to ask too many questions to upset mum as I’d rather her be oblivious to all this, she kinda feels well in herself, what stage of Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) is she ?
Hi @Alex1974 welcome to our forum and posting.
It really comes over how caring you are, your mum is lucky to have you.
We cannot answer what stage she is at, only her medical team know that.
Have you any support.
Perhaps write down all your fears, questions and practicalities and if it is appropriate have a really honest talk with someone in your mum’s medical team, like a specialist nurse.
Has your mum still got the right to make decisions about her own healthcare, how oblivious is she?? I do not know the answer
Perhaps your mum’s dementia care team might be of assistance.
Has your mum got any questions she would like answers too.
Personally I think that you are really in a tricky position, I do not envy you.
Please do look after yourself as well as you do your mum and please do let us know how you get on.
