Hi
I have been on treatment for 6 years for polycythemia with a Jak 2 mutation. Of late my spleen has beco.e enlarged and my liver is struggling. In my recent blood film it has come back as Jak 2 undecetable. Does this mean the disease is cured?

Good morning @Chook and welcome to the forum.
I’m assuming that must have come as a complete shock! When do to meet with your medical team to discuss your results?
I have copies in @BloodCancerUK_Nurses as they are the experts.
How are you feeling about it all?
Dear @Chook
Thank you so much for posting and welcome.
As @Nichola75 said, I would also be interested in the feedback of your Consultant and/or Clinical Nurse Specialist regarding the result being negative after 6 years. Your treatment team are best placed to answer this question. It must have been quite a shock to hear that there was no evidence of the JAK2? Was there any mention of the quality of the sample?
May I ask what treatment you are taking?
Apologies for all the questions but it challenging to make comment on such an individual case.
Please do get in touch if you would like to talk or plan the questions to ask your treatment team: Blood cancer information and support by phone and email | Blood Cancer UK
Kind regards
Gemma
Isn’t it all so confusing @Chook all my questions for my medical team fly out the window when I walk into a medical building so I find that It is best for me to write down all my questions, symptoms etc before I go.
You seem to have some questions and symptoms for your medical team and I look forward to hearing how your next appointment goes.
Be kind to yourself
