Rapid doubling of WBC with CLL

I am new here. My counts went from 25k to 56 and then on up in a month or so. I had been on watch and wait but will be starting treatments soon. Anyone else have such rapid doubling? thanks.

A great big welcome @JoeVM to our forum.
I have Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and obviously I always get concerned when I get my blood test results.
I have not had that rapid doubling, fluctuating yes, but I believe medical people take blood test results plus other aspects/symptoms into account when considering offering treatment regimes
You say you will be starting treatment soon, how do you feel about that?
There is a lot about Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) on the Blood Cancer UK website I attach the link

I have been on an emotional rollercoaster ever since my diagnosis.
I always write down all my fears, questions and practicalities before appointments to ensure I cover everything and get answers.
I also find waiting and the unknown horrible
I look forward to hearing more about you and how you are getting on.

I am kind of anxious about the treatment. Thanks for asking though. Will keep you posted.

Hi @Linda29 , thanks for sharing where things are at for you. Whilst this is a useful thread, there’s a more current conversation running on watch and wait and tracking blood results, if you fancied comparing notes with people going through it right now: CLL and tracking blood results.

On the red cell count question, hospital teams tend to weigh up several things together rather than any one number alone. Your own team will be best placed to say how that fits with your specific results. There’s a clear breakdown of the general factors on our Active monitoring in CLL page, if that’s useful while you wait for your next review.

Our Support Line’s there for you too - 0808 2080 888 (option 1) or support@bloodcancer.org.uk. It’s staffed by our brill blood cancer nurses, who are as lovely as they are experienced!

Take care, and keep us posted.
