Would i have to tell my consultant ive be diagnosed with sleep apnea, im on Asprin

How are you keeping? Now diagnosed what’s the plan for the sleep apnea?

Hi Nichola i don’t have an appointment till January, so maybe i should let my clinical nurse know, im doing ok apart from the night sweats an fatigue, i just got an appointment for sleep apnea clinc on the 7th of November so i find out wat there going to do, i hope you are doing ok xx

Hello @Erin, sorry to hear of those night sweats and fatigue. Just popping in to say like @Nichola75 it’s good to keep our specialists up to date with any other medical stuff, it might still relate to our blood cancers.
I’ve got Polycythaemia vera (PV), closely related to Essential thrombocythemia (ET), and my haematologist tested me for sleep apnoea as he said it can affect how much oxygen reaches our blood.
Perhaps your doctor would appreciate knowing too, they might look out for any changes in your blood test results to check the apnoea isn’t affecting the Essential thrombocythemia (ET).

I tell my medical team about every symptom like sleep apnoea, night sweats and fatigue, and your clinical nurse is a brilliant start and if they do not think there is in your case any connection to your Essential thrombocythemia (ET) or medication perhaps it is your GP .
Please do let us know how you get on, you have a lot going on so please do look after yourself

Thankyou Erica i was talking to my clinical nurse, she said to keep a list of different symptoms, and she will let the consultant know about the e sleep apnea, and to phone if im worried about any other symptoms xx
