Swollen lymph nodes

Im having painful lymphnodes, and I have them for around 3-4 years. Earlier they were not painful but now it’s getting difficult to walk for long, leg feel like it has walked 10miles or so, and the pain is not letting me Sleep. Im having fevers which are persistent and take too long to go away. The constant fatigue has decreased my everything. No matter how much I eat, once I reach 45kg or above my weight plummets down to 39kg. Could this be lymphoma? I don’t know much about it. I’m 24 male, all these things are affecting my quality of life. Any suggestions might be helpful.

Hello @Ata

Sorry to read that you are experiencing symptoms that are starting to affect your quality of life.
Enlarged lymph nodes can be caused by a few different possibilities, the most common being infection. The only way to know exactly what is happening in the node/s is to have a scan.
We do have an informative website page on possible symptoms of blood cancers, which you may or may not have seen: signs&symptoms
We would always encourage anyone with symptoms that persist, like yourself with ongoing swollen nodes, fatigue and weight concerns, to book an appointment with their GP for a review.
The GP will be able to decide what investigations may need to be done to explain why you are having these symptoms.
If you need some guidance on what to ask the page above also has suggested questions when at the GP surgery.
Sometimes blood tests can be helpful in ruling out (or ruling in) possible Lymphoma, there are many different types of blood test, so based on your symptoms your GP will be best placed to advise on what they think should be investigated.
It can be helpful for the GP, if you write down a timeline of when symptoms started and what makes things better or worse for you.

Do let us know how you are getting on, hopefully your GP can reassure and support you over the coming days.
Take care, Heidi (Support Services Nurse).
