What are randomized clinical trials?

Randomized clinical trials are a study in which the participants are divided by chance into separate groups. These groups compare different treatments or other interventions. The division by chance means that the group will be similar and the efficacy can be compared in a better manner. However, it is not known which treatment is best at the time of the trial.
