Think the recovery from your Transplant will be much of a slower proceess than your hysterectomy @Byrnebaby because of what they have to do to your body to get you ready.
That said your mindset and personal drive are both important during Transplant and in the recovery phase.
You have @2DB and @Spangleystar as people who can give encouragement and support over the coming weeks.
Thank you lovely @DuncanB yes, I was fooling myself haha, but you know? I’ve got nothing else to do but take it slow, and the 100 days will be mid September then it will be autumn/winter, so plenty of time to hide away and re-build, and emerge again next spring, ready to take on the longer hikes x
Think of it as a leisurely walk it’s a bit kinder.
Your body has been through a deletion of it’s old immune system for a new one. We are like new born babies and they take time to learn to walk
Well I thought I was @DuncanB , I certainly haven’t felt that I’ve been pushing myself- I am napping when I need to and going to bed at the right time, but the data is showing me that it’s not enough and my resting heart rate is super high. Yet I can’t seem to get more sleep or get that down xx
Ohhh perfection @Spangleystar !! This will really help on that day! Ah ha! Yes the nurse said in the phone call the other day, you might not smell it, but believe me everyone else around you will
Not only could I smell it I could taste it too! Mind you I can taste anything that goes in iv, even just to clean it - they had to swap me off the posiflush because it was too acrid and triggering nausea.
Grab some boiled sweets just in case xx
Thanks @2DB I use an Oura ring-here you can see the trend which I’d like to start to see going nearer to where I was even slowly. I’m only on Aciclovir and no other meds, Oura’s AI tool says it’s all part of recovery, but because I have congenital mitral regurgitation I’m super conscious about what is going on with my heart xx
You are a very sensitive soul @Spangleystar ! I’ll bear that in mind and take plenty of boiled sweets, my list is getting ever longer BUT on the good side TAKE THAT and Amazon are streaming the concert I was supposed to be at! So I will be there! Differently but there!
Thinking of you and that heart of yours being sensitive to all you’re going through @Spangleystar.
I’m sure you know stress can affect our hearts too, and being under stress for lengths of time will change readings on our Oura rings.
Don’t know about you but sometimes feeling like I’m not ‘achieving’ what my ring tells me I should be also stresses me out! So I put it on rest mode and give myself a break from that
Yass I hoped this might be the case @Byrnebaby!!! I’m imagining you getting excitedly ready for their concert, but not needing to tolerate all that pesky travelling and queueing malarkey. Not quite the same as in person, but at least at home you can sing along more freely with all your favourite things around you!
