Hi @Soozy. I wasn’t stage four so that might make a difference.
I did get Covid last year and received the antivirals - recovered in a few days and was just tired for a while after that.
My team just said to be careful, make sure I was up to date with vaccines etc. In the height of covid I worked from home and then small groups but but to normal at work now and on six monthly checks.
Each case is different though isn’t it so all you can do is listen to your teams advice and work from that X
Hello @Colinb
Really sorry to hear that you’ve had such a horrible time. How are you feeling now?
May I ask if the when the hospital pharmacy called you did they say you weren’t eligible for treatments or was it due to your symptoms?
Hoping that you and wife are on the mend?
Take care
Gemma
Day 6, im still reading positive but back at work for the day (im not going in for next couple of days) I never really understood why not offered anti virus, but hey ho. Still no sense of taste or smell.
Sorry to hear that you weren’t offered the treatments Colin, it sounds like you’ve felt quite unwell. Glad you are improving. Please do call your Haematology team and let them know the outcome when you have a chance.
Do get in touch if you need any help.
Gemma
Hi Colin I was too like you avoided it alway through the pandemic. But as soon as we returned to any sense of normality I picked it up. Would you believe I have had it twice in the last year ! And just been avoiding it for a week in my house as my daughter has had it for the third time ( she is a midwife)
I also have follicular lymphoma. Both times I received anti viral medication and I did feel better quickly for this, my husband had it at the same time as me at Christmas and I was well before him.
I do hope you are on the mend.
This isnt covid related although its day 7 and still reading positive, but on 7th march i was out walking and it felt like i had pulled my calf muscle, just a sudden pain. 2 weeks on the pain has not get any less, ive tried painkillers and keeping off leg but no difference in fact after walking any distance is quite painful, is this something i should discuss with blood nurse or simply peservere?
Hi @Colinb sorry to hear this, yes we would really encourage you to give your clinical team a call to let them know and seek their advice around this.
Sorry to hear that you are still testing positive for Covid @Colinb
My philosophy is to check any symptom out that takes time to resolve itself.
Please let us know what your blood nurse says and take care of yourself.
Please keep us updated on how you are doing. Take care
Have you seen anybody about your calf pain yet? It can be an indication of Deep Vein Thrombosis and that needs quick treatment. Take care.
Thanks, yes i have seen a Doctor, its not dvt and not varicose veins its something inbetween and i am getting treatment which looks like it might be starting to work now, thanks for everyones advice.
Glad to hear things are going on the right direction
So a week on and after a visit to the out of hours clinic on thursday they decided to put me on a course of blood thining injections until i can get a scan on monday to get a definitive decision on whether it is a blood clot. Im so hoping its not as im booked to go on a family holiday to Cyprus on 15th of the month for a week. Arrggh
Oh @Colinb I really hope your scan goes OK and fingers and toes crossed for you that you get to Cyprus with the family on the 15th.
Please let us know how you get on and look after yourself.
Got everything crossed for you hoping you get to Cyprus
Hi @Colinb. Was thinking about you yesterday. Hope everything went ok.
Well some good news i think, not a blood clot but an infection and been given antibiotics for the next week. Seemingly infections not unheard of when taking Hydroxycarb. So trip to Cyprus still on thankfully. Thanks for all your support. Colin
@Colinb, yep, good news I think, I hope the antibiotics do the job and Cyprus trip goes ahead.
Please keep us updated and look after yourself.
That’s really great news!!! Bet you can’t wait!
Just when u think things are getting better im having the covid cough again, tested negative but cough back with a vengence, day 5 an as bad as while i had the covid, nothing seems to work to relieve symptoms.
