Hello...my first post.....High grade NHL

Oh @Smurf08, yes, I know the mind going into overdrive, your feelings are so natural.
Perhaps a call to her medical or support team might be needed, weekend or not, or 111.
I always have to write down all the symptoms, questions and fears before call so I don’t forget anything whilst my anxiety is high.
Please let us know how how you, your mum and dad are after your visit.

Aaww I’m glad you have spoken with your doctor.

My mums BP and her temperature were fine. She still feels dizzy and is in bed. She can be so stubborn at times and didn’t want me phoning for advice (that’s another story). I’ve told both parents that if mum gets worse in any way to phone me and I will either phone the ward or NHS24.
Thanks for your replies x

Hi @Smurf08. I was just wondering how your mum got on?

Thanks for asking. My mum got tablets from the doctor but these are not helping, she is still dizzy. I thought the tablets would have kicked in by now!!!
Why do they just fob you off with tablets instead of trying to get to the bottom of what is wrong x

Oh @Smurf08 sorry to hear that the tablets are not working for your mum and that the root cause of the problem of her dizziness is not being looked into.
Perhaps if the tablets are not working, and she has given them enough time to kick in, then it is back to the doctor again.
Why is everything such hard work when we are not feeling well in the first place and could do without the stress.
It must be so hard for you being powerless over the situation as well, how are you doing?
Please do let us know how you all get on.

Thanks Erica. You’re completely right. It is very frustrating that someone with my mums health history just gets palmed off tablets!!! I’m ok thanks but still can’t help but worry that this could be connected to her cancer spreading.

Maybe she needs a stronger dose of the tablet as I know doctors tend to start you off on the low dose and work up.

I hope you are well?

It’s so hard isn’t it @Smurf08. Was it a phone appointment? I assume they wouldn’t see her face to face? I thought that might be an option. It I know all practices do things differently. It’s so hard not to think everything is related to the cancer - I go straight to that place with any ache or pain so completely understand your anxiety around it. Keep us posted on how things are X

Yes Nichola just a phone appointment. She got 9
days worth of tablets which will take her up to Tuesday.
Glad I’m not the only one that lets my mind go into overdrive!!!

She was diagnosed with high grade NHL which spread to her lungs, liver and spleen. Her last scan showed there was only one new nodule on her lung but I cant help but worry that since her scan it has spread into her central nervous system hence her dizziness, nausea and previous headaches.

Just want answers xxx

Oh @Smurf08 isn’t it hard living without answers and yes, the mind does go into overdrive, it’s only natural.
If your mind is doing that I bet all your minds are doing the same.
Take care all of you.

Thanks. My mum is a bit worse so waiting on the doctor doing a home visit tonight x

@Smurf08, it is difficult to know what to say to you apart from the fact we are all here for you.
So the doctor really did arrive and took the action needed and your mum is in hospital and getting tests.
How are you doing?
