My name is Deidra. I was diagnosed with HL in 2019 l. Treatment was successful. About 2 weeks ago so received a test back with a High M Spike. Doc said I need to do bloodwork every 3 months now. We also will talk on November 21st. I don’t understand the test. In his last message he said no treatment is needed as of now. What is that supposed to mean . Just anxious from not knowing now
Hi @deedon888 I am so glad that you have found us and posted.
I have to say the waiting and not knowing is a horrible time.
Nobody know what your Doc means but from personal experience every time I try to second guess my Doc and their words I get it wrong.

Welcome to our Online Community. I’m sorry for the reasons you’ve come to find us but I think you will find this a supportive place to share. It’s very understandable that you’re feeling anxious right now and I’m sure others here will also reply.
I can’t be sure, but it sounds like your consultant may have put you on active monitoring, also called ‘watch and wait’? We have some information on this, which may be useful to read through: Active monitoring (watch and wait) | Blood Cancer UK Even if this isn’t what they’re planning for you, the page has some useful questions to ask your hospital team, and it may be worth going back to them to have a conversation about it to get more understanding and hopefully reassure you. You could write down any other questions you have in advance too, so you get all the information you need.
If it would be helpful to talk this through in more detail, please don’t hesitate to give our Support Line a call. The number is 0808 2080 888 We’re currently open 10am to 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday, 10am to 7pm on Tuesdays, and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.
I can feel for you about your recent test results it’s always an anxious time that wait and then your doctor’s recommendation for further monitoring has left you with lots of questions.
Your doctor should be able to provide more information about your specific situation I would give them a call write down what questions you would like to have more information about. Like how often will be you seen , face to face , will you have any regular tests etc. Don’t hesitate to speak to you doctor if you have any questions or concerns. They are there to help you understand your diagnosis.
In the meantime, it’s important to try to stay calm and focused on taking care of yourself. Make sure to get plenty of rest, eat healthy foods, and exercise regularly. These things can help you feel your best and cope with stress.
Remember, you’re not alone in this. There are many people who are here to support you.
