Oh @Nichola75 I don’t believe it and I will be interested what responses you get.
If you have the same symptoms again you must be feeling really rough so please take to your bed, look after yourself and be very kind to yourself. Covid can be nasty and have long lasting after effects, especially with your immune system.
Do you go down the anti viral route again???
Please keep us posted how you are doing xxxxxxx
Gosh @Nichola75 that is a worry. Hopefully it is just a problem with the lateral flow rather than a true positive. I hope the experts can advise on what this can mean.
All the best and hope you get back to more of a normality soon.
Cx
Hi @Nichola75,
So pleased you have shared this and I’m so sorry to hear you are still not feeling great. Can i ask how you are feeling today?
Can i also just ask when you had access to paxlovid?
We do know that post paxlovid viral rebound has been documented within other countries and we understand that the MHRA here in the UK are still monitoring this as only a small number have been reported thus far. It is advised to report any suspected symptoms via the yellow card system- Yellow Card | Making medicines and medical devices safer (mhra.gov.uk)
We also know that often antiviral treatments can mean that symptoms do not necessarily worsen but may persist over a number of days after completing your course of Paxlovid.
Can i ask would you say your symptoms have worsened? If so we would, as expected I’m sure Nichola, advise you to seek advise either from your medical team or GP.
Please do let us know how you are feeling over the weekend and call us should you need any support at all, Lauran
Hi Lauren. Thanks for your reply.
Just full of cold and exhausted again but not any worse than last time.
I got Paxlovid on the 16th May - the day I tested positive and finished them last Saturday.
I reported it to Yellow Card yesterday. It will be I interesting to see what the UK finds out after monitoring. No need for GP but if I was worried at all I’d definitely seek medical advice.
Once again, thanks for replying and have a lovely weekend X
Hi @Nichola75 ,I hope you are feeling more comfortable today and I was thinking of you especially after all that because I’m back in the water again, be it the hydro pool and its fab to be back.
Take it easy.
Bannanacake
Thanks @Bannanacake. Not feeling to bad today. Swimming later - the water really does calm me - like it does you!
Oh @Bannanacake a hydro pool sounds so wonderful, enjoy
I hope you enjoyed your swim @Nichola75, just what the doctor ordered, if you get what I mean, yes, it does sound really calming,
Hi @Nichola75,
Just a wee message to check & as I was wondering how you are keeping now?
I hope you are better & managing a lovely bank holiday, Lauran
Morning Lauren. Got some antibiotics midweek which seems to have helped. Just lingering cough and tiredness. I’m having a lovely jubilee weekend. Hope you are to and thanks for checking in with me X
Aw i hope you continue to feel better and no doubt the sunshine and fresh air will be helping.
Enjoy, Lauran
How lovely you had a positive experience. I had the infusion and the treatment couldn’t have been given more professionally and supportively.
Getting to the point of treatment was a nightmare as I tested post good few days into illness and nobody in the NHS system seemed to know much about how to access. I’m hoping I didn’t get my treatment too late as still feeling poorly albeit my blood oxygen levels are good.
Same happened to me. I tested negative for 3 days. Only found out with a PCR in hospital when me GP referred me in to be checked over. I had the infusion at home with a nurse and they will go to 7 days in some areas.
I’m glad you are on the road to recovery. Just take it easy. It’s left me exhausted X
Look after yourself @Margo Covid can be nasty and the symptoms linger
Hi @Margo I have been thinking of you and I wonder how are you feeling now?
Look after yourself
Hi Nichola - really useful to read this - thank you so much for posting. My sister who has Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) tested positive on the 16th June and started Paxlovid 2 days later. She too had 5 negative tests after completing her treatment and then felt a bit coldy on day 6 (today). She’s just tested positive again on lateral flow. She’s back in bed and haematology said they’d never heard of Paxlovid rebound. We’ve completed a Yellow card - seems like this might be more common than the 1-2% seen in the clinical trial. Hoping she will not be too poorly over the coming days. Would be useful to know if any other people have noticed anything similar
Hi @Helen454. I’m so sorry to hear your sister is back in hospital. I really hope she starts to few a little better soon It’s good that we all report it. I’ve heard quite a few stories now. How are you doing? It must be a worrying time. Please keep us updated on how your sister is doing X
Hi Nichola. She’s doing well at home right now - just a cough and sneezing at the moment. Still testing positive on LFT. She’s feeling better in herself and eating well which is good! Keeping everything crossed for an event free recovery and negative test. Thanks for your support x
Glad things are going in the right direction. Sending lots of love X
