Hi everyone,
My husband was diagnosed with Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) last October. Since then he has been getting all his flu, Covid, Pneumonia and Shingles jabs.
On his 2nd Pneumonia and 2nd Shingles jabs which he had at the same time, he had a bad reaction. Dreadful headache and shivering. So much so he went to bed for the day. I checked with haematology and they said it was ok, because his bloods were ok. His first pneumonia and first shingles jabs were done separately and he had no reaction. Has anyone else had such a reaction having Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)? Thankyou.
Hi @Wp54Zba I have Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) but I had them done at different times with no reaction.
I hope others will be able to share their experiences.
Look after yourselves
Thanks Erica.
I was surprised the nurse gave both the vaccinations at the same time. Surely that is an “overload” for the immune system to deal with. We will make sure they are given one at a time for future.
Xx
Mine were given separately a few years apart @Wp54Zba
I’ve had all my vaccinations recently (as I am post transplant). And I had a similar reaction to the second shingles jab - horrid fever and bed bound for a couple of days. I don’t think it’s uncommon……but I wish I had been warned!!
Great to hear from you again @Ledgell and very interesting to hear your experiences as well.
Be very kind to yourself and please do keep in touch
Thankyou for replying Ledgell. And letting us know your experience. Lots of love. Xx
