Good morning all - I’m marking 7 years since I received my Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosis this week, so does anyone mind if I pick the words this week?

If that’s okay, I choose:

Resilience

Vulnerability

Hi @Ceri_BloodCancerUK 7 yrs since your diagnosis and a lot has happened in that time, if you are anything like me there might be mixed emotions and reflection as well today However perhaps a great big pat on the back for your resilience and acknowledging your vulnerabilities.Perhaps without your diagnosis your career might have explored other avenues and we would not have been so lucky as to have you on our support forum

My thoughts are for your brilliant words

RESILIANCE - Eva Cassidy - Wade in the water - Wade In The Water (Simply Eva)

VULNERABILTY - Moddy Blues - Ride my see-saw - Ride My See-Saw

Hi Ceri such good words for us all as we deal with our blood cancers both are felt and needed eh

So for me

Resilience - The Climb - Michael Ball

For vulnerability - I am I said - Neil Diamond

Seen both artists perform them and they are very powerful live !!

Thank you @Ceri_BloodCancerUK for choosing the words this week.

The Japanese art of Kintsugi is very meaningful to me so for vulnerability my song choice is MEND THE CRACKS WITH GOLD - Paul Bell - and for resilience my song choice is

STRONGER TOGETHER - Military Wives.

I wonder how you are feeling today @Ceri_BloodCancerUK? I agree with what @Erica and @Jilly20 have said. Maybe it’s a day of mixed emotions?

Thinking of you. Willow x

And for VULNERABILITY I’ve been thinking about Dolly Parton and her incredible album Jolene:

Hi All, I thought I would jump in with both feet today. I don’t know what I am feeling, but just feeling something is not right, emotionally, not medically or physically, I might just be very tired which is not helping. However on the plus side after 2 mths my back is a lot better and I got, hopefully, the last thorn out of me, after my altercation with a bramble bush who tried to engulf me in a hug. The perils of walking and not looking where I was going @DuncanB What has really helped my back is a roller given to me by my Pilates instructor last week.

Anyway I ramble on, not bramble on, my words today for you all are CONFUSION and HUG, go for it everyone.

Good words Erica will think on songs later but you go easy today - sorry it’s a not so good day and yes particularly when the fatigue is extra bad it can feel an especially uphill struggle - we all understand that on here so you have fellow feeling for today - I quote you oh so many times to lots of different pals that deal with stuff with your wise advice of “be kind to yourself” - so today you be kind to yourself - it’s more than well deserved

My song choices are for Confusion - U2 - I STILL HAVEN’T FOUND WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR and for Hug - MAKE YOU FEEL MY LOVE - Adele. Thinking of you @Erica Willow x

Hello @Erica, it sounds like you’re pushing through an unsettled time at the moment - I’m sorry. I’m sure a lot of us here can relate to that feeling of something just being ‘off’ sometimes, and given our shared lived experiences I’m sure we tend to be more in tune with our bodies and more vigilant when something’s not right.

I hope you’ll be able to rest a bit this month, and take good care of yourself. Do get in touch if we can do anything to support you.

I love these words! Here are my choices:

CONFUSION: Sum 41 - Confusion and Frustration in Modern Times - Sum 41. An underrated album, and the song’s pre-chorus and chorus go:

[Pre-Chorus]
So what went wrong? Where’s the voice of reason?
It’s long gone, we lost it long ago
Apathy plus-sized filled the void of motivation
I can hardly breathe at all

[Chorus]
Confusion’s all I see, frustration surrounds me
Solution’s bid farewell, sedation? What the h*ll?

HUG: Jack Johnson - Banana Pancakes feels like a warm, comforting hug to me <3 I listen to it quite a lot, and it gets me into a nice headspace.

Oh @Erica, I wonder if you thought some very rude things about that final thorn and the bush it came from as you threw it away! Begone, irritating little thing!!! I hope you don’t let those brambles interrupt your rambles, walking or otherwise.

I love these song choices. How about for CONFUSION this Bowie ditty that always cheers me up:

And for HUG some Pink Floyd and Breathe (In The Air):
