@BobK99 great song choices again

So Friday night is music night and I know the volunteers usually post, but as I miss seeing everyone’s music I thought I’d suggest a couple of topics.
I suggest

Here
Faraway

If the usual team come on and I’ve jumped the gun forgive me please - it’s a sunny Friday night, perfect for music.

Ps @BobK99 - we have similar taste! I chose the Julie Driscoll version too

Thanks @ChrisCKW,
Here - Live the life - Rod Stewart, I heard this song this morning and I love the ethos of being in the here and now.
Faraway - Flying without Wings - Westlife
I await others.

Thank you so much @ChrisCKW for posting the two words this week! I just remembered I hadn’t done it!! sorry all. Who agrees that it’s a good idea to have a different person choose the words each week :relaxed: Looking forward to hearing other people’s song choices this week!

My choices are
Right here, right now by Fat Boy Slim - good tune and maybe the right idea …
Then The Girl with the Faraway Eyes Rolling Stones from their Black and Blue album - it’s nothing like their typical sound and is a bit of a mickey take of mid west American country music

Love your choices @Erica and it will be fun to have the words chosen by you then others ….

Hi @ChrisCKW, great, I will check out The Girl with the Faraway Eyes, I am not aware of it.
Just checked it out and you are definitely right, it did seem a bit of a mickey taking by The Stones, thanks, I cannot get the tune out of my head now !!

Hi everyone! Great word/theme choices @ChrisCKW. Thought I’d chime in with what I’m listening to today in between taking calls on the support line (we’ll be here until 1pm if you need to talk). We listened to a playlist from the 60s and 70s yesterday whilst gardening, so these both spring to mind for “here” and “faraway”.

“Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. https://youtu.be/KQetemT1sWc Getting a bit of sunshine on my face was such a mood lifter - although I might need to go on an apology tour to my neighbours as I got a bit carried away with singing along. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

For “faraway”, my song is “Going to California” by Led Zeppelin. https://youtu.be/PDIz4talyQk I recently spoke with my family (who are all in southern California) and they “took me with them” on their trip to the beach during our Zoom call. It made faraway seem a bit closer to here, and it brought such big smiles to everyone’s faces. :sunglasses: :palm_tree:

You have now got me listening to the Beatles whilst lying in the sun. Just perfect!
Who cares about the neighbours - keep singing :joy:
Sounds like your trip with your family was perfect!

Hi @RebeccaBloodCancerUK , you have got me singing here too, great choices.
You must miss your family as they are so far away but I am glad you ‘went’ to the beach with them thanks to Zoom.
This section is fun isn’t it and I love the variety of choices, my repertoire is broadening.

Here comes the sun … just a perfect song for this weather, and impossible not to sing along to - love your choice @RebeccaBloodCancerUK

Off to listen to Led Zeppelin, but I would say we are lucky to have you here. Great to share a road trip by zoom though! Xx

Hi Everyone, a trifle early for the Friday Jukebox club but Friday mornings are a bit hectic for me.
My random words are =
Underground
Stone
Go for it gang.
Whose going to come up with the random words next week?

My thoughts are
Underground - The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset - about Terence Stamp and Julie Christie meeting and talks about Waterloo Station/underground. At the time it had the longest (stunning) intro.
Stone - Cher - Heart of stone
I await other’s thoughts.
