Coping with being in isolation in hospital

Oh @Willow why can’t they just stop at the good news.
After all you have been through and they still may not be able to fully eradicate this pesky bug of yours.
Falls can happen so quickly.
Well, I still have not forgiven my kitchen floor, I can hold a resentment for ages.
The aches and pains change daily, but looking back how I was a month ago, I am making progress, but feel better one day, overdo it and am in more pain and mobility worse the next day.
It has made me realise how much time I spend standing in the kitchen every day though.
New Years Resolution is to spend less!!
I also realise that the bathroom and kitchen are the most dangerous rooms.
Yes, sending you very warm, but cooling, best wishes xxxx.

Thank you so much @Erica. I told the doctor how hot I was finding it in this room and he said as long as I wear a mask and wait a few hours after my nebuliser treatment I am allowed a bit of exercise in the corridor. Tomorrow will be day 7 which should be halfway through if all goes to plan. Thanks again for asking. Warm wishes Willow x

Willow Good to hear you are allowed to go for a walk in the corridor. Halfway there is getting closer to getting home. How are you finding the nebuliser treatments, I have found that they can give you palpitations. You could ask about getting a home nebuliser. I have one, have had it for many years, it has been very handy when I have an asthma flare up. Thankfully I rarely have to use it and am under strict instructions if I need it, to see a doctor within 24 hrs. Be sure to have a drink after neb treatment as you can get thrush in your mouth as a side effect. Thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery. Warm wishes Liz 59

Thank you @Liz59 for your kind words and advice. I am actually receiving an antibiotic through the nebuliser plus IV antibiotics too so I don’t think it’s something that could be done at home. Hopefully it is just a one-off and not something I will require regularly. I will certainly take your advice about having a drink afterwards. Warm wishes Willow x

@Willow who would have thought a hospital corridor would be so appealing.
Perhaps just check it out about drinking after your nebuliser, as you say there are different sorts of nebuliser treatments.
Yep, tomorrow is day 7, you are doing absolutely brilliantly.
Be so, so kind to yourself

Thank you so much @Nichola75. I am hopefully over halfway through my isolation. Everyone says it’s freezing outside but one of the hardest things I am finding is the heat in this room! The fan helps but I long for some fresh air. Even when I am allowed out into the corridor it still feels airless. Hopefully the treatment is working. Thinking of you. Warm wishes Willow x

@Willow - a virtual hug from me too. What a horrible time you’re having; not the best start to 2025. I hope you are feeling the effects of the antibiotics now. I have to say that breaking 5 ribs must have taken its toll. Best wishes :two_hearts:

Thank you @Jilly20 for thinking of me. Hopefully not much longer to go now, it’s strange when I know it’s so cold outside but in this room I am wearing summer clothes! The staff like coming in here because they can warm up but it’s not the same as being in here all day. Warm wishes Willow x
