Getting there!

Hi all I last posted just before my second Stem cell transplant, well I’m now over 60 days post transplant and doing really well! All my numbers are good,100% donor cells and no Graft v host issues so far,I know it’s still early days but having gone through this process twice I can say this time I’m recovering quicker than the first time.
Onwards and upwards !

I’m on my first Stem cell transplant and the SC infusion was put in on the 11th of October and so far no adverse effects.Well not ones I can with 100 percent certainty place at the door of the Stem cell transplant.I have a floater in my eye, probably Vitreous Detachment, and coincidence it occured when it did?Plus a bad back which I am guessing is muscular as I have occasionally had the problem before but I am going to ask the doctor about it later on as the Kidneys and Liver are thereabouts.

Hi @Kevan7 please do let us know what your doctor says.
Look after yourself

Hi Kevan7,I’m glad you’re recovery is going well, the body goes through a lot with the treatment phase, the medics are very good an eye on everything and as a patient it’s hard to tell what is down to the transplant or coincidental as you say.
I’m doing ok apart from a rash on my face which could be mild graft vrs host or a reaction to chemo but if that’s all I get I’ll be happy!

Oh @Kevan7 that must be and feel very weird.

Wow this is fascinating @Kevan7! You often share such interesting information about these blood cancers we live with, thank you.

Weird indeed for your blood type to change completely after treatment. In some cultures, blood types are thought to denote character traits, kind of like with astrology star signs. Wonder how your blood type complete transformation would be perceived?!

That must feel so strange!

Indeed it does make you think about what it means to be an individual and how tenuous that is.
