I launched my summer fundraiser yesterday. In place of doing the Prudential Ride London, I’ve decided to ride 1000 mile for Blood Cancer UK between July 16 and August 16 - finishing with completing the PRL100 on the Zwift platform.
Thanks guys! however, I’ve been off the bike for a couple of days. I didn’t quite factor the effect of a daily ride would be on my anatomy!
Including the first few days of the ride, I’d ridden 18 days consecutively. As a result I “think” I’ve given myself an infection due to perineal pressure. I’ve been on antibiotics since Thursday. I say “think” as I’ve not had face to face with GP, only telephone consultation, describing symptoms, which I foolishly omitted to mention the bike ride. But I did some research and it does kind of add up for me, but I do have appointment booked in after I complete meds etc…Temperature hit 38.9 at one point to so have done a covid test to rule that out.
I’m much better today, temp normal, appetite back and I’ve swapped my saddle to a more ergonomic one that was on my other bike. Hopefully, I’ll get back on saddle tomorrow to continue my journey !
Ha! yes, some rest, then catch up on some gardening / diy & some music projects… aiming to keep up the weekly miles on the bike too… not to same extent of course.
I play with Hitchin Band (Brass Band) as well as other groups… all on pause for now. Hitchin have a recording project on the go, we all record video of ourselves playing and it get’s “glued together” to create a video of everyone playing. I’m a bit behind in my submissions due to my training / charity bike ride.
Thanks for the link @dmquinlan, wow, what a trumpet player and I had forgotten Mrs Q was a professional singer and with such a beautiful voice. I will be singing ‘Fly me to the moon’ to myself for the rest of the day. Please let us know how the projects go.
