I’m not sure about great taste - I’m not a Radiohead fan

Hahaha I know his voice and their styles can be quite a case of the Marmites!

 I feel the same about Morrisey - my husband is banned from playing anything with his vocal in, while I’m around! Gives me a pit of the stomach nausea - so weird!

Hahaha despite me and my other half loving the Smiths, Morrissey has been persona non grata in our household since he came out… as a vile bigot

Well @Duncan I had never paid him any mind - I’ve done some googling now however and, urgh…

Grim right?! Oh well, there’s always Mexrrissey!

Omg I love Mexrissey! Have seen them live a d they were great.

Agree about Morrissey. No wonder Johnny Marr doesn’t want anything to do with him.

Aren’t they great @Barry1? I love mariachi music and can’t erase my fond adolescent memories of The Smiths so it’s worked out okay! Keeping my fingers crossed that Thom Yorke isn’t a secret Nazi or something

Where do you find these bands?! Strangest concept ever, but somehow it works

Good question! Often they’re the support act for musicians I’ve gone to see (found John Grant supporting Sufjan Stevens that way). Sometimes they’ll catch my ear when I let my steaming service do random playlists. Honestly, I’ll just use Shazam when I’m out and about and want to check something I can hear that I like! It’s so much easier now, thanks app makers

Oh yes @GenesisDevice, join in on Fridays in this thread. Someone will usually name a couple of words that are pertinent to them and add songs that relate to their words, and then away we all go adding our own songs that relate! I love it :musical_notes:

Oh @GenesisDevice I really do hope that you join us, Friday is the high spot of my week. We are an eclectic lot.

I also realise that you are a fellow Eva Cassidy fan, I love her music, she sadly died too young

Hi all

‘words that are pertinent to me and a song or songs that relates to this’

I am quite the quiet, competitive type. Was an athlete for the county in my (much) younger days, probably where the competitiveness comes from. Now having my Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia ('CLL') diagnosis my competitive determination to fight it is something I draw strength from. To that end, I can often find myself listening to (among others)

Elton John - I’m Still Standing

Mathew Wilder - Break My Stride
