Oh gosh apologies it’s been a week mums had appointments galore including chemo all day today. So a belated happy birthday.

What is going on with me! I keep losing track of days :flushed_face:

I woke up and eagerly awaited the lunar eclipse this morning, when it didn’t happen the penny dropped :woman_facepalming: - it was yesterday​:rofl:Friday, and I’d missed this too!

So a day late but I’m putting my songs in because these are great words again from @DuncanB

For HIGH I’m going for Oasis and ‘Champagne Supernova’

And for LOW Anderson .Paak ‘Get Down’ - radio edit as the lyrics are a bit :grimacing: and it’s such a great funky tune you don’t need all of the choice language!

Happy Friday All

I’m back on treatment and the dexamethasone has kindly kept me most of the night, so I thought I’d pop the words out there this week!

My first word is ‘MEDICATION’

I’ll start us off with the song I was trying to sing myself to sleep with - thanks to the Dex!

Dexys Midnight Runners and ‘Come on Eileen’

Then as the days are getting shorter and I felt this keenly when waiting for the daylight this morning , my second word is ‘DARKNESS’.

I’m going for Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence, because it did actually help me drift off for a few hours!

DARKNESS - Mamas and Papas - The Mamas and The Papas - Dedicated To The One I Love (1967) I always think of this song if I cannot sleep ‘The darkest hour is just before dawn’

Wow 2 tunes I didn’t know existed! Love the original Isley Brothers track! I thought I’d clicked the wrong link because I thought it was Ice Cube’s ‘today was a good day’. Always great to hear the original when a brilliant sample totally makes a song :two_hearts: xx

They are beautiful lyrics for sure @Willow by the same token of to appreciate highs you must have felt lows and to truly appreciate beauty you must have felt pain. As beauty in its truest sense I believe is built from character, character, derived from life experiences. Bit philosophical this morning, I blame the dex :rofl:

I agree @Spangleystar You are so right. That’s why the Japanese art of Kintsugi is so meaningful to me. Instead of trying to hide the cracks or throw the broken object away, a feature is made of the brokenness using golden glue. Beauty can come from brokenness. Willow x
