The Friday Forum Jukebox Club!

Hey Erica,
Went to emergency eye clinic on 26/3.
I made another referral to correct the one Specsavers
optometrist sent, which was inaccurate and contradictory.
My corrections filled an A4 page.
I gave it to the optometrist, who ran a complex series of tests to find what was causing my occasional double vision, which I told her only happened when I looked at a single item for a few minutes.
Her findings were that my eyes go out of focus when I do the above but return to normal when I don’t.
She went and had a word with the consultant who said it was nothing to worry about and he didn’t need to see me to investigate further.
The optometrist told me it was a good job I didn’t have the prescription that Specsavers gave me as it would have been a waste of money.
I’ll have a word with the manageress next week about the eye test ( which they insist I didn’t have) and the useless referral.
2 weeks of unnecessary stress for nothing!!
It’s worth mentioning that all Specsavers branches are a franchise like McDonald’s, customers are in an assembly line, fast in and out.
Each branch in the Uk make in excess of £1.5 million per annum!!!

They were so innovative and it was sad to see the keyboard player died after contracting Covid. New album due out sometime soonish :+1:t3::+1:t3:

@Blackhat, thanks so much for the update, yes, a very stressful 2 weeks for nothing, it is frightening isn’t it, thank goodness for your referral.
Please let us know if your eyes continue to go out of focus.
Perhaps it is lockdown to blame and staring at the same 4 walls !!

They’re my favourite band of all time, although I preferred their material while Hugh Cornwell was still with them. I’ve also followed him since he went solo and really liked his last album, “Monster”. Some really good acoustic stranglers tracks also on that album.

It was really sad about Dave Greenfield’s passing last May. His keyboard sound really made them unique. I wonder who they’ll get to replace him. Also that only leaves JJ as the sole member from the original lineup.

So so glad everything is ok!

Happy Thursday forum family! This week your sixth and super instalment of the :musical_note: Friday Jukebox Club :musical_note: comes a day early again!

Ready? Great! …

As a reminder, here’s how it works:

  • Each week, the Support Services Team will share with you two random words.
  • You find a working YouTube link to a song or two that relate, however tenuously, to one or both of those words (feel free to be as imaginative as you like).
  • Share a YouTube link or describe a song related to one or both of these words in this thread.
  • Include, if you’d like, a description of why you picked the song so we appreciate it even more.
  • Listen and enjoy!

Your words this week:

  • hangover
  • eyes

So one of the words is “eyes”, but do we spy with our little eye some good music choices from our forum family?! We think so! The floor is yours

Take care and :man_dancing:t4: happy almost Friday :dancer:t4: everyone!

Warmest and most musical wishes from the Support Services Team

Su, Alice, Bav, Sophie, Rebecca & Kate

But as you’ve already nominated him…

Oh @ChrisCKW, good choices. I am so sorry to hear that you are still in Macmillan, I know that you had obviously hoped to be home by now.
You are obviously not have the traditional Easter treats then.
Hang in there, your health comes first.

Hi @ChrisCKW, I am so glad you are being well cared for, that is the main thing and I do not know of any Easter Bunnies the medical world anyway.
