Hi @helenfwallace . Well done for finding “If I was a blackbird” The lyrics are almost the same as the one I know, but it is a more modern version with a different tune. The version I know probably dates back to about the 1930’s. When I was a child in the 1950’s I used to play the 78 record on an old fashioned wind up gramaphone.

Two great choices Erica. The house of the rising sun was one of my favourites back in the day.

I remember having to turn the handle on the gramophone to keep it wound up. We only had one record and it was Winifred Attwell @Chris1

Hello everyone, I thought it was time I chose the words this Friday. It is lovely to notice the days getting lighter as spring is coming so the words are -

NEW
SEASON

For NEW, my song choice is A NEW DAY HAS COME by Celine Dion and for SEASON, Westlife, SEASONS IN THE SUN. Warm wishes, Willow X

You’re up early today @Willow but really like your words and song choices to start off today.
I too feel as though spring has sprung, mentioned to my neighbour yesterday that my first yellow crocus and first purple dwarf iris have both popped up in the garden.

My songs are

Michael Buble “Feeling Good - It’s a New Day”

And although it doesn’t technically have Spring anywhere in it, it does talk about blue skies and the sun coming out plus it’s one of my favourite ever songs so have used artistic licence to include it! Mr Blue Sky by ELO, makes me happy whenever I hear it and takes me right back to being a teenager in the 1970s.

Good choices @Willow. For my choices I have gone classical. For New, I have chosen The New World Symphony, Largo, by Dvorak. For season I have chosen Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Summer, as it is my favourite season.
