Travel insurance when on Obinutuzumab maintenance

Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a company that will cover me for travel insurance while I’m on Obinutuzumab maintenance? Is this still classed as treatment? Thought I’d ask before hitting the internet searches😄

Hi @Blue99 a great big welcome to our forum, trying to get travel insurance, at any price, is always a problem for blood cancer patients, but I know this has come up before on the forum.
As for being on Obinutuzumab maintenance?
I hope someone will be able to help you and perhaps the Blood Cancer UK support line can point you in the right direction and also answer your question.
Please let us know how you get on and I look forward to hearing more about you.

Hi there and welcome. A really common question. People have recommended ‘Stay Sure Insurance’ to me. I was going to give them a call in the week.
This is quite useful info as well

Let me know how you get on X

Hello @Blue99, welcome and thanks for posting. Yes, your maintenance is classed as treatment so important to mention this. Both @Nichola75 and @judesadventures have mentioned good companies to call, I recommend asking to speak to someone directly. They may ask abour remission status and often it is really helpful to have a letter from your Heamatology team to say your a fit to fly/travel with all your details on it, saving you time going forward hopefully. Our colleagues at Macmillan have a good page to read https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-information-and-support/impacts-of-cancer/travel/buying-travel-insurance and of course you are most welcome to call the Support Line How to contact Blood Cancer UK | Blood Cancer UK. Take care Gemma

It’s hard to get travel insurance if you have lymphoma or leukemia and you have to use specialist insurance companies.I would guess that they charge a lot too.It may be possible to get some kind of insurance excluding the cancer say for example you broke a leg but I’d imagine you’d end up in dispute with them if anything happened as it with some things it’s hard to say what the cause of the medical problem was.

Hi im on watch and wait for lymphoma and i went with saga . They do only do insurence for over 50 and unfortunately im in that age group (just). I went to thailand last nov and paid just over 500 for 2 weeks and that was one of the better quotes.

Staysure insured me for a few years with Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) I haven’t tried to get insurance since I started treatment but I will be later in the year. Hopefully after successful treatment I won’t be penalised to much
