@Rammie18 you certainly haven’t pushed in front of the queue, you were given it as you need to have it as soon as possible.
Well had my jab today …Astra zenica…so well organised and Nhs staff and volunteers were so lovely…well organised and quick… I think the thinking about it caused more anxiety and the snow…hopefully no side effects…
Hi @Hmc63, brilliant news that you have had your jab today, I had mine last Friday and it sounds as if your experience was the same as mine, aren’t we lucky to have the wonderful NHS staff and volunteers.
Hi everyone. I had my first vaccine yesterday. I was given the Pfizer one and have the second one booked already for 22 March. I have some muscle aches and a nasty headache today but interestingly I remember having a bad headache after the two swine flu jabs a few years ago. Maybe it’s because it is a new virus that my body doesn’t recognise? I am sure I will be fine in a few days. Like others have said, the staff and volunteers were wonderful and the whole experience ran very smoothly. Warm wishes. Willow
Great news @Willow, great news that you have had your vaccine but sorry to hear about the muscle ache and headache. Please let us know how you are feeling again soon.
Must admit my arm is a little sore…not to bad and a bit achy tonight… but nothing that I didn’expect…time for a snooze. Reflecting on the sad news of Capt Sir Tom Moore…reminding myself what A fantastic 100 yrs he had…lovely family and thinking of his love of the Nhs and him trying to help them…a year ago we didn’t know him now look
.how lucky we were he came into all our lives. Let us cherish the Nhs and care staff and thank him for his inspiration warmth and bravery
Well 24 hrs on had a few side effects …flu like symptoms…muscle ache and feel.shattered they do warn you about it…so feet up stay in bed… lots of fluids …don’t regret getting it done just feeling sorry for myself
Oh @Hmc63 sorry to hear about your side effects, yes a look after yourself day is in order, let us know how you are tomorrow.
Hi @Hmc63 . I hope you start to feel a little better soon. I had the Pfiezer this evening. Hopefully side effects will hold off. You take care and keep us updated
Great news that you have had your vaccine this evening @Nichola75.
Hi @Hmc63, Great to hear that you got the vaccine. Your symptoms post-injection sound similar to mine. I feel better than I did, I had mine last Saturday, although do still feel a bit tired. Normally I hate needles, but this was an exception for sure. Take Care, Lou
I am so pleased you have had your vaccine @Lou
Thank you in feeling alot better today…just pleased I got it done… the injection was the easy bit …let’s wait for part 2 now…take care
A lot better today thank you… back to normal if there is a normal. Just glad it’s been done .thank you
Well, last week the MacMillan volunteer was filling in paperwork for each chemo patient at hospital. Monday I checked in, and they got my 70 yr husband registered too as he is my chauffeur and acting as my unpaid carer! I was taken straight to a side room away from everyone else, and given my vaccination, and was observed there for 15 mins. My chemotherapy was delayed by a day to ensure 3 clear days either side of treatment, and bonus was husband getting his at the same time…he got his letter to book yesterday! 2nd one booked on 26th April
This is great to hear that your husband got his at the same time! And you raise a really good point - Currently, unpaid carers who receive Carer’s Allowance or who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person (child or adult) whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill who are prioritised in Priority Group 6: COVID-19: the green book, chapter 14a - GOV.UK. If this is applicable to anyone’s family’s situation, we would recommend your family members talk through this information with their GP. Carers UK has additional information here about this process: Covid vaccine - FAQs - Carers UK
Many GPs have a simple form enabling people to register as carer.
Although my husband does not get carer’s allowance, we mentioned to the receptionist that I relied on him to get me to hospital 2/3 times a week, and she said that he should have it
I had mine on Monday, and apart from a heavy arm Ive been absolutely fine… in fact I’ve been able to get decent night sleeps… maybe due to avoiding afternoon naps but generally I’ve been all good since the jab… though I’ve had the jab in secret I really cannot wait til April for the 2nd jab so I can properly get together with the family as we’d have all had our jabs…
Hi All,
Possibly the wrong thread, that and I cannot find a definitive answer.
I am being Covid jabbed tomorrow but cannot contact haematology.
Does anyone know if I can have any of the vaccinations, I have CLL?
Hi@trudiA
I hope you are feeling well. I too have SIDS after multiple lapses of Lymphoma. I am in two minds about having the vaccine. Just wondered if you have decided, or, have in fact, had it yet? I would be grateful for your thoughts
