Coronavirus Vaccine: Third dose

A great big welcome @jamesjoyce01 and I am glad you have posted, yes, I am in the same position as you, my booster is also due January, although my medical team have not mentioned the booster.
I am just awaiting as the 3rd Covid vaccination process is so ongoing.
Yes, it is confusing.
Therefore we are all supporting ourselves on here and it is a comfort to know that Blood Cancer UK are campaigning and keeping us informed.
I look forward to hearing more about you.
Stay safe.

Yes same situation for me. I had my third dose in September so should be having my booster now but haven’t received any communication about it. My GP practice were a bit off with me when I asked about it previously which doesn’t inspire me that I’m in safe hands.

Hi
My experience since this pandemic started is i have had to chase and use everything i can to get my jabs even though i am in the high risk category with with Non Hodgkin’s and respiratory problems, My practice at the time it was due seemed to know nothing about a third primary jab and i ended up downloading information on it and sending it to the practice 2 weeks later i had my third jab, if i have the same problem when my booster is due in January i will contact the practice and if i get no joy will use my consultant who is very helpful to contact them. i can cope with receptions being a bit off as its not there life at stake

Hi @jamesjoyce01, firstly welcome to the forum and we hope you find this a useful and supportive space. It’s understandable with all the changes, updates and announcements that it can get confusing. Please see our webpage about the fourth dose/booster following the third primary dose, which you may find helpful here: How to book a covid vaccine if you have blood cancer | Blood Cancer UK.

If we can be of any further support please don’t hesitate to reach out to the supportive service team.

Thanks

Thank you @Bav.BloodCancerUK for this information. It looks as if it is not possible to book a booster/4th dose in advance of the three-month anniversary. Like @jamesjoyce01, I had my third dose in October but towards the end of the month so I think I will wait until the exact anniversary and then try our local walk-in centre. That’s great advice to take the same letter that was used for obtaining the third dose (what a saga that was to be sure!)

I would say, however, that the arrival of a PCR test kit before Christmas with NO chasing was a lovely surprise and the possibility of receiving antivirals by post sounds at least hopeful, should a positive test occur.
