Cyclophosamide priming

Thanks @Duncan great advise as always! I’m quite intrigued to find what is actually under my hair when it comes off! I know I’m going to orcat least I hope I look a bit like Ripley and not the alien :alien::joy::joy::joy: any particular moisturiser you use Duncan? I’m trying to find baseball caps with the annoying cut out at the back for later in the summer, but think I’ll have to go for wide brimmed hats instead x

Aww I’m glad it was helpful @Byrnebaby, although I know it’s sensitive for many people. Uncannily I was thinking of Ripley, my hero for fighting against gross things we don’t want inside us!!! Know what you mean about what our heads look like under the hair :see_no_evil_monkey:

As for products, well I mostly use Andalou stuff as it’s pretty economical while also being vegan and made with natural ingredients. For proper sun lotion I use Baby Bum (?!) SPF 50. Might not be available there  I like Andalou’s daily moisturisers with SPF 30 and they do lots of night and face creams, including a chocolate and avocado one that I have to try really hard not to taste  :chocolate_bar: :avocado:

Day 11, I’m shattered, in bed, unashamedly eating a magnum from the grazing menu at 10.30  I’m celebrating my first proper rise in n’s today to 0.26  not had a 38 temp spike for 24 hours but am still on antibiotics- now targeting Weds for discharge (again just an internal goal, not based on anything I’ve been told):crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

How are you doing lovely @Byrnebaby @DuncanB @judesadventures @2DB @Duncan @Willow and everyone else out there? Xx

The BEST way to celebrate a milestone @Spangleystar :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: May you be in the rise from now on x all good here, hair still falling but heck it’s going soon anyway x just waiting for Rachel to arrive and we are going to watch Eurovision! Shhhh I’ve avoided all news :musical_note:

Hello @Spangleystar you are on my mind a lot. It’s so kind of you to ask after us when you are dealing with so much. I feel for you. I have had a few days of a raised temperature 38° at times. I have a permanent area of infection in one lung (long story) and it flares up from time to time due to a compromised immune system. Nothing like what you are experiencing @Spangleystar. Thank you for updating us on your progress. I hope things go smoothly for you. Warm wishes Willow x

I hope you can get some time in nature to feel better soon @Willow. That sounds a real struggle. I’ve just been out to the hospital roof garden for a breath. Have you written any more poetry recently? xx

Oh, @Spangleystar Personally I reckon a Magnum has great medical beneficial qualities at any time of day or night, go for it.I say.

Magnum from the grazing menu sounds ideal @Spangleystar

Sorry to hear still shattered but entirely expected.

Nice walk this morning with my wife and some nice lighting and reflections.

Hopefully give you and anyone else who needs it a little lift today some virtual fresh air.

Enjoy

It’s normal to feel shattered. You may feel like this for a little while. our bodies are working so hard to produce our new immune systems
Magnums yummy celebration I think it’s good to have a treat for each new step forward.
Neutrophils are on their way

@Willow sending you gentle healing hugs

Hugs to anyone else who needs one

Looks like every day is full of awe @DuncanB, wind or not—although I imagine it can get super blowy by the sea there like in Hove, actually. Remember those days when sea storms would roll in and blast the seafront?! Forgot to say, lucky you to have lived in Seven Dials, I was nearby for a couple of years down Montpelier! Used to love that Japanese restaurant Murasaki, and I think there are decent cafés up there now. I lived mostly around Brunswick, and then once overlooking the Pavilion (not recommended).

Not surprised you feel shattered @Spangleystar, your body must be working very hard indeed. Ah I see @2DB said the same and actually knows how it is (hugs back)! Still unfathomable to me how complex all this is, so I’ll just say rest well and know that you are being held in mind by many people, me included obvs! I’ll keep my fingers crossed you get to be discharged when you hope to. Now I also want a Magnum :face_savoring_food:

Hi @Duncan it certainly can be super blowy up here just like in Hove.

Yes there certainly were quite a few cafes in Seven Dials and expect will have changed a bit since we moved up North.

Attaching a couple of photos of one of those days a few years ago which I hope you and others will appreciate. Both taken by my wife.

Fantastic news @Spangleystar

Still a journey ahead as you recover but being in your own environment definitely helps.

Hopefully your local Haematology team will be taking on the care when home.

I know when I was discharged from my Donor Transplant it was a shared care arrangement.

Team at Raigmore saw me in person twice a week and I had a video (Near Me) appointment weekly with the Transplant team.

Hopefully you will have plenty of support when home

Take care
