Hi @Hegg and welcome to the forum.
It’s always a worry when you see something abnormal in your results isn’t it, especially as you have a history of blood cancer in the family.
However, I’m not medically trained and would not like to comment. Others may be able to share their experiences but remember every journey is different and the results could mean a number of things.
That won’t stop you mind whirring around so I would suggest that you write all of your question, fears and worries down ready for your next GP appointment.
Have you been told to book an appointment to discuss your results? Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long.
I have copied in our @BloodCancerUK_Nurses and there is a link below to the support line if you need to talk anything through.
Blood cancer information and support by phone and email | Blood Cancer UK.
In the meantime, Please keep posting on how you are doing and let us know when you have your appointment.

Hi @Hegg I think it is always natural to wonder, worry etc.
If you do not mind me asking why did you have the blood tests and who ordered them?
I ask who ordered them because they are the person who you need to discuss the results with as they know your whole and presumably your family history.
Yes, the waiting and not knowing are the worst parts., I have to say I have done a lot of that over the years.
@Nichola75 has given you a great response.
Please do let us know how you get on
Be kind to yourself in the meantime, look after yourself and please do keep posting

Dear @Hegg,
I agree with all the comments here, it is always a worry seeing our blood results out of range, sometimes this is normal fluctuation but the results should always be checked by a clinician. I hope you managed to speak to the GP today? Do let us know how you got on?
They may wish to repeat them to make sure they have corrected back to normal.

Do call us if you would like to talk through anything on 0808 208 0888

Best Wishes,
Heidi J

Thankyou I spoke with my gp today and my platelets have been over 400 since 2009 :woman_shrugging:t2: I am now been referred to haematology……so I still have no answers other than apparently some peoples platelets can be consistently high
