As others have said @ross32 please tell them at A&E everything you are suffering from, how bad it is and that you have been bedbound for a couple of months.
As you wait for the ambulance it might be a good opportunity to write down everything you want to tell them, even if you might not think it connected, also tell them your fears, stresses and anxieties.
We are all thinking of you, please post when you can.

Hello @dmquinlan
Well done for taking on the Ride London/Essex, what a great achievement and also a huge Thank you for taking part!
I can appreciate being told your platelets are low can be confusing and might be worrying, especially if you feel well. Hopefully you are able to get more blood tests booked in soon and you don’t have to wait too long for your results.
Please keep us updated.
Stay well! Best Wishes, Heidi.

Hi @ross32. How frustrating for you to make all that effort to get to A&E and then not get any answers. It sounds a good plan to arrange that gastro appointment next week. I really hope you can get some explanation and help regarding how unwell you have been feeling. Thinking of you and wishing you well. Willow

Hello @ross32, sorry to hear that after all your efforts, there was a very long wait in A&E. Not ideal when you feel so poorly to have to sit out in a busy waiting room. Despite having a private Gastro consultation booked, please do follow up with your GP as well. Whilst you are waiting for that appointment, it might be a good idea to jot down a timeline of events to take along, sometimes the smallest statement or rapid change you’ve had may alert the Doctor to undertake other tests. I hope that the Gastro team are able to give you advice or like you say, refer you on to another team if needed.
Take care, keep resting. Best Wishes, Heidi.

Hi @Heidi_BloodCancerUK ,
I have had a quick chat with haematology nurse after my follow up test on Friday. Don’t have details, but drop in some key items, so I’ve decided to shield immediately.
Nurse raising with consultant so hopefully some swift action. The speed is a concern, but thankfully in system now as it was caught at annual consultation. I feel so sorry for those who have to fight with their GP to get seen, especially now after how the whole patient / GP relationship has changed due to the pandemic… getting a face to face consultation seems quite tricky!

take care all,

David
