Swollen Lymph Nodes

Thank you. Spoke to my brother earlier. He has Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and went around the laboratory. Someone asked why the results take so long and they said there‘a one test which they literally spin your blood for 4 weeks!! Amazing what they can find from your blood. But yes, waiting is definitely the worst - especially when you find out your doctor hasn’t even done the referral :woman_facepalming: Still hopefully in the system now!

I had a call from the hospital yesterday in order to book a CT Scan on Sunday - yay I’m in the system!! Doctor called me last night to say that the haematologist wants to see me but wants some tests done first (hence my first phone call!). Also my CT scan on my lungs is showing some issues so respiratory want to see me too! I was telling a friend about my issues and realised I really do have a lot going on :pensive:

I am so frustrated!! The results haven’t come through for my CT Scan (I get it, it takes time) but having spoken to the haematologist‘s Secretary she told me that if the scan comes back ok that will be the end of it. If I want to be referred to them I will need to see the doctor, again despite having asked THREE times to be referred!! The secretary was lovely and said there isn’t much of a wait time but I asked FIVE weeks ago to be referred. I had my first blood test 3 months ago and I no where nearer knowing anything!l. My SIL thought she had blood cancer. Saw the doctor yesterday and her blood pressure was really low and she felt awful so doctor sent her to A&E. admittedly she came home 24 hours later but she now knows she has an under active thyroid (which the doctor should have picked up weeks ago with her blood tests) but she has an answer. I can see why people go to a&e!!

After how many months?! I have actually got a haematologist’s appointment on the 15/5!!! Spoke to a different doctor on Tuesday who organised it. My referral to the respiratory team hadn’t been done either (from 2 weeks ago) and that has now been done too! At last!!

Yes @Amandabubble as you say at last.

So the haematologist has cancelled my appointment and sent a letter to the doctor with their findings. Basically they feel there is no evidence of blood cancer (yay! ) but did see the lung damage so recommend referral to respiratory (which had already been done). However, although I am 99% sure I don’t have bc and obviously they know 1000% more than I do I thought it couldn’t be ruled out with a CT Scan if you still have symptoms which I do :woman_shrugging:t3: Although relieved, I still have that 1% doubt as I still don’t feel right so I will get another appointment with the doctor. I have more blood tests at the end of May plus respiratory team want me to have bloods to make sure I don’t have an autoimmune disease as there is a long wait and would see me sooner if I did. Thank you all so much for all the support and I wish you all well. Lots of love :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Off course there is always that doubt. What’s good is that your medical team are on top of it and checking which is great. Also, you know your body so like you said, if you are concerned, just go straight back. Take good care of yourself and keep us updated

Oh @Amandabubble that niggling doubt I always get, especially with good news, Why do I always get it, I don’t know.
It sounds as if they are still referring you for other tests.
However if you don’t feel right as @Nichola75 says perhaps do go back to your GP.
