Guess I’m here to just express. I have a large hard lump in my neck which has been growing, a cough for months, constant feeling sick (however suffer with anxiety) and the feeling of a lump when I cough and eat. The lump feels large when tilting head back. I have been back and forth to doctor and had 2 lots of blood tests done to compare them. However on Monday my doctor felt my neck again and I got referred to Maxifillo specialists I had to go for a chest X-ray on Tuesday I’ve had an appointment for a scan come for next week and the hospital phoned for me to come in on Monday. I’m 27 and just feeling very anxious about everything and keep touching my neck wondering what it is. All my bloods have been fine so is this a sign it’s nothing nasty or could it still be something worrying
Hi @ a great big welcome and it is fine to come on here just to express. I find it can often help my anxiety just to say how it really is and feels to be me.
Why do you feel it might be a blood cancer?
I am not a medical person, but it sounds as if your doctor is investigating to rule lots of condition,s with similar symptoms, in or out.
Perhaps write down all your fears, questions and practicalities for your doctor.
We cannot make a diagnosis on here as your doctor knows you and your whole medical history best.
Really look after yourself, be ever so kind to yourself and try and divert your mind, it is naturally an anxious time for you waiting and not knowing.
Please do let us know how you get on.
Hello @Hayleyg0706 .
I can hear from you post how anxious you are and that’s normal.
I can understand your worry but you have been referred to the right place and will hopefully get some answers.
Remember, symptoms can be related to so many different things.
I would advise taking somebody with you to the appointment. When I’m anxious I never take anything in so it’s good to have somebody there. And write all your questions down.
Be thinking of you. Please keep us updated on how you are doing
Hi @Hayleyg0706
Welcome to our forum & thank you so much for posting.
I am sorry to hear about your current situation and can imagine how anxious this is making you feel. It’s normal to feel like this when there is uncertainty and we don’t have the answers we need, but as Erica & Nichola have mentioned, these symptoms could be due to many different things, so it is good that you have been referred to the appropriate teams to have this investigated further.
It’s reassuring that your bloods have come back as normal, but it is still important to have these symptoms checked out to try to find the cause of them. Taking someone with you and letting them know, and the team know how you are feeling is also a good idea so that they can try to support you as a best as they can. We hope that everything goes well at your appointments and that you get some answers soon.
