Great choice @Vera here’s your link, not one I would have thought of
Talking Heads - And She Was (Official Video) [HD] (youtube.com)
Hello, everyone! I’m a bit tempted to kill two birds with one stone (or two words with one song!) by going for Roger Whittaker’s The First Hello, the Last Goodbye, but I think I’ll suggest that for ‘first’ and for ‘last’ I’ll go for Michael Ball’s Last Night of the World, which I think has been sung by lots of other people as well.
Hi @JanetF brilliant choices, here are your links
Clever with both words
ROGER WHITTAKER - The First Hello, the Last Goodbye (1976) (youtube.com)
Michael Ball - Last Night Of The World (Live at Royal Concert Hall Glasgow 1993) (youtube.com)
Oh, lovely - thank you, Erica!
Now I’m sitting here listening to Roger Whittaker and getting all misty for my childhood! When he died I downloaded some of his music onto my phone, as I had only had cassettes and CDs of his before and it’s so much easier these days to have music on the phone.
Do I get to frivolously choose music again this week?!
So just a reminder it’s the LLS Virtual National Blood Cancer Conference tomorrow, Saturday September 14, in case you might like to register and tune in.
Relatedly, I think my words today will be BLOOD and TALK.
Grapevine by Weyes Blood: https://youtu.be/MNDlMe4nuWw?feature=shared
Once In A Lifetime by Talking Heads: https://youtu.be/5IsSpAOD6K8?feature=shared
Thanks @Duncan for the information about the conference and the great related words
BLOOD – Leona Lewis - Bleeding love - Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love (Official Video) (youtube.com)
TALK - The Carpenters - Calling occupants of interplanetary Craft - Carpenters - Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft (Lyrics) (youtube.com)
Appropriate words for us all!
For blood
Kings of Leon - Don’t stop the bleeding
For talk
Stevie Nicks - Talk to me
Hi, @Duncan! ‘See’ you tonight at the LLS virtual conference!
In the meantime, your choice of words has given me the opportunity to suggest a Mika double bill, so thank you for that!
For ‘blood’, I am going for ‘Heroes’. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebEAXiGoriU
And for ‘talk’ my suggestion is ‘Talk about you’. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH30OyVXuK0
As an aside, I’m not going to own up to just how long I was singing ‘Put your bird on me and my bird on you…’ before I saw the lyrics in print and discovered that it was ‘blood’ and not ‘bird’! No wonder it never made sense! That said, I defy anyone to listen to the chorus and distinguish between blood and bird !
See you soon @JanetF and others attending the virtual blood cancer conference
Hi everybody. Thought I’d add the words tonight ready for you in the morning.
This week has been quite emotional. We moved our daughter to Leeds for uni on Wednesday and it was my yearly check up today. I feel exhausted
However, Ella is happy and settled and check up was good. My emotions have been all over the place so my words are:
- Rollercoaster - often how we hear feelings and emotions described on the forum and definitely true for me this week
- Grateful - my consultant looked exhausted and said how short staffed they were but he still took so much time with. Really felt for him today!
For rollercoaster I have ….
had a.bad day - Google Search
And for grateful ….

Wow, I cannot imagine how you are feeling, thank goodness for mobiles and ‘zoom’ (other platforms are available)
