Fully in support of this, and love the idea of Forum members suggesting the words @Duncan! I’ll pin it for today, as well.
Do let me know if you need any help keeping it rolling each week, and I will definitely be joining in as well, even with my rather ‘elder emo’ music tastes.
Well done @Willow I couldn’t think of anything other than bleak songs which is why I was happy for someone else, but you managed to - so you inspired me to think of less bleak choices!
For TIRED - I was waiting for the sun to come up impatiently from 3 this morning so I went for Norah Jones: Sunrise
For WIRED - the feeling I had whilst waiting for sleep in the first place could only be Faithless: Insomnia
@Willow your songs Not sure why I can’t get the image up on the Beatles track but the link works! Oh it’s just appeared - I’m impatient, tired and wired it seems Hope you are feeling good x
TIRED (with a language warning for a couple of swear words): “Brain Stew” by Green Day (1995) - the first band I ever saw live with a friend in my teens, and my love of them has never waned. A classic 90s alt-rock song about insomnia and being unable to sleep.
WIRED: “Electric Feel” by MGMT (2009) - I feel it captures a dreamy, buzzing, and heightened sensory experience that’s a bit like that feeling past tiredness of being wired/slightly disconnected.
Hi @Barry1, that’s right - users build up ‘Trust levels’ over time (reading, posting, responding, liking others’ posts) that allow them some extra features (like sharing links). That’s to stop spammers creating an account and immediately being able to share nefarious links.
However, I have now manually moved you up into a more trusted category, so could you try sharing links now?
Aww it’s so lovely waking up to find all this great music! Love those word choices @Spangleystar, look at how many cool songs they’ve inspired. What a great mix of styles and eras too
Isn’t she amazing @Barry1?! Been fortunate to see her live a couple of times and she’s still as fierce as her character in that Bond film (weirdly just realised it was filmed where I am now!).
So glad you like La Luz @Spangleystar, I think they’re from Washington state originally but moved down here—I totally resonate with their song California Finally! Have you heard Shannon & The Clams? Another great local surf rock-adjacent band that are amazing live
