Great to hear from you @Hmc63 and it does sound as if your recovery is doing well.
I trust that you are more balanced than me because my pattern is that I feel a bit better, then overdo it, and go backwards !!!
I am so glad that your friend and neighbours are really wonderful, don’t forget that you can choose your friends but not your relatives.
Yes, focus on the positives and we are here to support you and if you would like to talk you can contact the Support Services Team on 0808 2080 888 (Mondays: 10am-7pm, Tuesdays-Fridays: 10am-4pm, Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays: 10am-1pm) or via email at support@bloodcancer.org.uk. It’s really great to hear your recovery is going on the right direction. Thank goodness for friends and neighbours - yours sound amazing! Keep taking care off yourself and yes, I’ll work on focussing on the positives with you this week X
It sounds like you’ve got so much support @Hmc63 which is so good to hear. I had one friend locally when I got ill and he pretty much did everything for me, my shopping, fetching meds and doctor notes and went between my house and the hospital to fetch things for me when I was an inpatient for over 2 months. not sure how I would have managed otherwise.
That sounds like a true friend @Franko!
Hi @Franko you certainly find out who your true friends are - a friend in need is a friend indeed.
Well.blood test week then hopefully back.to 3 monthly check ups. Recovery appears to be going well from.my anyerisim. Ventured into a shop.the other day …first time in a year…was ok. Managed to deal with it ok.
I’m due My second covid jab …however waiting for blood test and advice from Neuro team . With it being Astra zenica and reports of blood clots I am to say the least petrified of side effects …so will talk it through first .
My carer…of friend tests herself daily for covid before comming to see me and she is here every day…as do her children .she’s been a godsend .
My gardener is doing well and I’m really happy with him .I’ve been.pottering in the garden …planting a few pansies and pruning bushes…
Onwards and upwards
I hope you are all well and staying safe everyone
Hi @Hmc63, I’m glad things are going in the right direction. You seem to have a really good support network around you! I think you are really sensible checking things out with your team. Let us know what they say. I to have be turned out a bit more - just short visits at quiet times. Baby steps!
Hi @Hmc63 yes, you seem to be taking sensible steps as does your carer, you are doing absolutely brilliantly and also asking the right questions.
I bet your gardener is a great relief and that those pansies will look so pretty.
Onwards and upwards is a great policy.
Take care and please let us know how your tests go.
Well blood test results are fine my platelets have dropped to 169…so since February last year they have been 1000… 600 340 now 169.
My medication was increased in February from 2 Angralide tablets a day to 4 a day and 2 500 mg Hydroxycarbamide…I have only been on 3 angralide a day and didn’t increase it with my platelets going down.
Obviously with recent events and my anyeurism my aspirin has in increased from 75 mg to 150 and I have to take a blood thinner prasugel…for 6 months…I’m feeling ok just a bit tired.
Shows how out blood results can change in a matter of weeks…
Onwards and upwards have my telephone consultation with haemotology on Thursday. Just watching my other levels they are a bit low but not to bad
Stay safe everyone
Hi @Hmc63, it’s always good to get an update and it’s even better to hear that your bloods are going in the right direction. Gosh, you’ve lost me with all the medication you take, it’s a lot to manage. Hope you are taking care of yourself. Let us know how Thursday goes
Hi @Hmc63, you definitely seem to be going onwards and upwards and I do not know if you realise how well you are doing having read your previous posts.
Isn’t it funny how we study our blood test results so minutely for changes and trends.
Let us know how your haematology telephone appointment goes on Thursday and make sure you get all your questions that you might have answered.
I have also learnt that sometimes I have to remind medical people of my family history, other conditions and medications.
Take care.
Thank you …I write it all down in a notebook and methodically tick it off…it’s only for a short time…well some of it is… if i didn’t I’d forget. I also use an app on my phone to remind me…that’s really helpful… oh how is go back 5 yrs when all I took was 1 aspirin
Sounds like you’re doing really well @Hmc63 . That’s really good to hear. I wrote everything down too and ended up writing a book!
