Unfortunately I had a bit of a bad reaction to the vaccination and have ended up in hospital. My temperature started going up about 12 hours after the jab and I wasn’t able to get it down with paracetamol so I had to call the haematology helpline. I ended up being admitted on Wednesday afternoon. Fortunately IV paracetamol and an array of IV antibiotics has stabilised everything and I hope I’ll get home today. Had a good conversation with my consultant last night and he’s going to look at some things to do before the second vaccination to minimise any further negative reactions.

Overall, while the last few days have been a bit challenging all my support has fallen into place and I’ve been well looked after. Also, even if I had known this was going to happened before I had the vaccination, I would still have gone ahead and taken it and I will not hesitate about getting the second one. Getting Covid would be much worse.

All the best, Peter

Hi @SpaceAngel. I think everything is so up and down at the moment which means our emotions are to. I completely understand your anxieties and concerns. Normality can still seen a long way off can’t it. I’m just hoping that this is all one step closer to ‘normality’. Keep posting and sharing and take care of yourself x

Hi like you I have had multiple relapse of my Smlz & after 6 different types of chemo then had a stem cell transplant .Advised by my haematologist to have the vaccine but not to expect to produce as many anti bodies ,but she felt any were better than none. Had my jab on 29th of January had not I’ll effects ,& hope to have an antibodies test to see if I had managed to produce any antibodies,I feel that this was the right way to go to not only to try to help myself but all my loved ones .Good luck with your jab keep positive.

Hi @Thelimes, yes my philosophy is the same.
I had my pfizer vaccine at the same time as yours also with no side effects.
Take care and stay safe and please let us know how you get on.

I think so. Some protection is definitely better than none x
